At the hospital for prep-op testing today. This is getting real now.- April Dates
I didn't call as often as I wanted to, and it turns out people didn't have the right paperwork. Who Knows how long it would've taken if I hadn't called and brought it to their attention. My paperwork could've been submitted two weeks earlier than it was. Keep calling!!- July surgery!
Congratulations!!! It'll be here before you know it- Date ideas!
Board games are always fun for me! Shopping or just walking around the mall or people watching. Take up the ukulele -- you can practice together and sing.- April Dates
Mine is not a full liquid diet, but shakes for Breakfast and lunch and then protein and veggie (low fat, low carb) for dinner. I started Monday and I'm on it for two weeks. Liquids only the day before Surgery.- I'm officially "Overweight" no longer "Obese"!
Congrats!!! I can't wait to join you- 2 week liquid diet?
Sugar free jello is only 10 calories per serving I bought a whole bunch of different flavors and have them waiting for me in the fridge.- So, my surgery is 4.1.13

I hope everything works out, Jess!- April Dates
Canna, I bought Celebrate vitamins---multivit, calcium and iron. They taste pretty good for a Chewable vitamin. I ordered them from their website. They are specially for Bariatric patients. I got a three month supply of each and it cost me about$100. I didn't think that was too bad.- April Dates
First day of two week pro-op. Had protein shake for breakfast and lunch. And I CAN'T WAIT for Dinner!! I'm not truly hungry but I do miss eating already. These next two weeks are going to be hard.- April Dates
You can do it, just keep everything scheduled the way it is. Have you tried the patch? That helped me a lot!- April Dates
Thank you!!- April Dates
Me too, Krystal!- New to this
Hi Jake! My understanding is that over the next 6 months, your stomach will grow in size until it can hold about 8oz at a time. So you will be able to get more fluids in faster as time goes on. I'm still Pre-op, so no first-hand experience. Maybe one of the December group will chime in.- Hello! New here and very nervous.
Oh! During the exam, he wanted to see if I had realistic expectations about the surgery, what it entailed, and the changes I would need to make for it to work.- Hello! New here and very nervous.
I agree--the psychological exam was no big deal. Mine took less than 30 minutes. I have heard some people have to do long questionnaires and such, but I have yet to hear anyone get denied by the psychiatrist. I'm sure you'll be fine!!- April Dates
Congrats on your approval!! I love this board--i've learned so much from others here. It's a great resource and support group- April Dates
