I posted this in preop but I guess it would be a postop question? i thought in the class I went to they discussed removal of the part of the stomach that causes hunger pains? But I hear people saying they are still hungry. Is it head hunger you are experiencing or real hunger?

I am not on any preop diet but I fo have to stay below my surgery preop weight set by the doctor. I am under by a few pounds but I can't stop eating junk! I have no self control. I feel like I am trying to get in all the goods I can before my surgery.

I have dr. Hahn in Fremont. It has taken me just over a year to go from my referal date to my surgery date of February 13.

Yes, I am iron deficient and it wasn't an issue until I was going through this process. I actually had to get an iud inserted to help with my heavy periods. My numbers are good enough for surgery. Yeah!

Hello all, I would like to know how you told your younger children. I have a 25 and 18 year old that I can tell no problem. I am nervous about telling my 6 and 10 year old girls. They of course will notice I'm not home for a few days and when I return home I will be sore. What did you tell your kids and when? A day before surgery, a week, two weeks????

Yeah! I'm getting rny on the 13th.

I told me husband last night that kaiser called and gave me a surgery date. I told him it was important for him go support me and it would be hard for me to do it alone. He asked that I try for one more year to lose weight on my own. He then told me I don't need it and he loves me the way I am. I told him I have arthritis in my back and ankles, pre diabetic, sleep apnea and jst tired all the time. We left it at that and I wouldn't say he gave me the silent treatment but it was yes and no answers for the remainder of the evening. About 3 in the morning I woke up and I could tell he was awake. He then asks me ..... How long after the surgery am I gonna leave him. Really???? Why does he always have to make it about him????

I don't have a preop. I just had to lose 20 pounds and my doctor is ok with that.

He not opposed but he thinks I can do it on my own. Three years ago I lost 50 pounds but here I am again plus ten or so pounds. He is just concerned .

I will have to postpone it for awhile. My hubby travels for work and I was gonna tag along. He goes again in October do I will go then.
