  1. Hi Matilda how are you? How is the weight loss going? Are you restricted, eating and losing? Would love to hear how you are doing.

  2. Hi so glad to hear you are ok. Sounds like laying down didnt help you much. My gas pain felt like a tight belt around my chest and sitting up, walking and burping helped a lot. Its much better today. My surgeon said 3 weeks off work!!! They wont be happy. But they want the internal stuff to heal properly. Even though I told them I do a desk job. I feel really well actually. I havent been hungry and I have had one cup of tea and half a glass of milk today. Are you hungry, sore, in pain?

  3. oh check out my photos and compare :-)

  4. ha ha thanks I sure didnt feel cute with my butt hanging out the back. How are you doing with the sip sip sip? I have to have the dressings off on Monday at my doctors. So I will get to see the scars then. But they shouldnt be too bad. A small price to pay. Sleeping is the worst, I dont what they gave me but I cant seem to sleep and thats never been a problem for me, Im always napping. I didnt sleep much last night because I sleep on my side usually so I couldnt get comfortable and I have only had a short nap today. Its now 9:30pm and Im still not tired!!!

  5. What sort of work do you do at the hospital? Do you have to lift much?

  6. Thanks! I feel so good. You sound like you feel the same too. Do you know this is the first time it actually feels like a lifestyle change rather than a diet. We can do this you know. Yay us x Oh and get pics of the suspenders (you know they are something completely different in England right???) :wink2:

  7. Hi, I loved reading your blog! Its so nice to have someone have a sense of humour about all this stuff. Hope its all going well. I am waiting for a date for my op but I am on a low carb diet until then. Fingers crossed I get banded before Christmas.

  8. Hi my fill was a bit of a nightmare but at least it resulted in great restriction at last. I am struggling to eat anything but the weight loss is still quite slow. I am doing ok at weight watchers. I have lost 10lb since joining and I have found the support really useful. Hope you are all doing well? I will have a flit around and check out all your profiles. I also started a new job this week. They dont know about the band and I'm not telling! Its nice to have a second chance. Plus they dont know that I have lost over 50lbs so they are not always telling me "well done". I can start again.

Keep up the good work people "hugs" to all x

  9. Hi Matilda, how are you doing? Hope everything is ok with you. I have lost 58lb so far and I am ok with that. Slow and steady wins the race, right?

    Take care x

  10. I am having my pre op appointment on Thursday the 4th (2 more sleeps) and I am very nervous. I keep thinking what if they do a test and say I am not suitable? I think I will be more relaxed once it is over and done with and I can focus on my band date.

  11. Hi Elleaitch,

Can you remember what tests you had before your band? I have my pre op on Thurs and am a little worried.

  12. I know! Where has everyone gone? I guess they were all hyped up but are now busy living with the band. And I find if I am not doing well I dont feel like commenting which is not good because it makes people think its easy all the time. Which it is NOT! Anyhoo if you want you can catch up with me on my blog at The Incredible Shrinking Woman

  13. If not I will still check in. :-) Hope you are having a great week x

  14. Hi Laurel, I think I did the same thing as I am more achy today. How are you doing with drinking? I have only had water, tea and milk but really small quantities. I know I am not getting enough water. But if I drink more than a few sips I get a tight sensation in my chest so have to stop. And I am not hungry at all. How are you all doing with the fluids?

  15. Hi Matilda, great to hear you are doing so well. I am really struggling. I have been hungry and able to eat anything since last week! I have really tried to stick to 1000cals and even though I havent gone over my weight has just gone up then down but stayed static. I have still kept off the 29lb but not lost anymore. I am really going through a roller coaster of emotions. But I guess thats why they call this Bandster Hell! Well done sticking to liquids for so long! I am more than ready to go back to work! I have never had 3 weeks off in my life but now I have a weeks holiday as we have my partner's sons for the week so I wont be back to work until the 19th April. I can not tell you how much I need a fill aaarrrggghhh. Hope work was ok today x

  16. I was supposed to do liquid for 2 weeks then mushies but I can already eat mushies (oh just thought, 2 weeks today!) and yesterday I had a normal dinner. Well veg, mashed potato and just one mouthful of lamb but no problems. I am still not losing but I keep a food log so I can show the surgeon what I have been eating. I know what you mean about the smaller clothes, they are not always a good fit at first but whats worse, baggy clothes or snug ones? I dont think either is good but if you are between sizes what do you do. You will soon lose the muffin top ;-)

The weather has been rubbish here, rain, rain and more rain broken up with a dash of sunshine.

I am off to the gym this morning to do some walking. Let you know how that goes. Take care x

  17. Hi Sammy how are you doing? Thinking of you x

  18. Hi jacquie

My surgery is 22nd of March. I thought you might like a friend whose date was close to yours so we will be at the same stage?

    take care

    Fiona

  19. Hi Elleaitch, over 6 stones, thats fantastic! I bet you feel like a new woman? And you are still losing? I'm not too stressed about losing the weight fast but at the moment I dont feel like I have had anything done at all. I can eat anything. But I am hoping once I have a fill it will start to work. How many fills have you had? I am so happy for you. You are right, seeing others succeed is a great incentive. I am looking forward to next year when I can maybe say the same ;-)

  20. Hi Laurel, Its lovely to have someone to share your journey with, I hope we can help each other through this exciting change. I look forward to hearing your story. Are you on any diet kind of diet yet? I am day two of a four week pre op diet and its not easy but its surprising how much will power you can muster when you have such an important goal.

    Wish you well

    take care

    Fiona

  21. Hi We are having our surgery on the same day, 22nd of March and I would love to share your journey. Hope we can help each other :-)

    Take care

  22. Hi Liz,

I have been seeing a medical doctor for 18 months and he has now referred me to a surgeon who I will see next week. I was wondering what to expect from this appointment. I really dont think I can wait another 18 months but cannot afford to have it done privately. I would love to hear your experiences with the NHS.

  23. Hi Matilda so great to hear from you! 45.1lb is fantastic! You must be feeling the difference now. I had my fisrt fill on the 23rd April. I could only manage liquid for a week but didnt lose any weight in that week in fact I gained 4lb! But I am eating small amounts now and fingers crossed the weight will start to come off. I am VERY nervous though. I have still only lost 32lb which is only 14lb post op. I hope it starts moving this week and I have upped the exercise so that should help. Some things have got stuck but its mainly because I didnt chew enough. Its hard to remember to slow down but you soon get a reminder. The full feeling is very different to pre band isnt it? I havent tried chicken yet but will do today. Good to hear you are doing well, take care x

  24. Ah Matilda I have a head cold too. Ive had it about 2 days and I'm fighting it off but I have 18 days till my op so it should be gone by then. Isn't it always the way, we have waited so long for the band and then get colds?

I have been doing my pre op diet for 3 days now (even though it's not supposed to start till tomorrow) and I am so tired and hungry! I am hoping that will get better as the days go on and of course it doesn't help that I feel under the weather. But all in all feeling positive for tomorrow.

How long do you have to wait for your results? What tests did you have and did they take photos?????
