    Im feeling good!

And damn you are looking good. How tall are you Sir?
  3. How about a 10K walk? Test your stanima. Or: A day volunteering at the animal shelter? Visit a museum? Raid the closet and take two huge bags of stuff to Goodwill? Write a short story? Drive to the beach/lake/river/stream and meditate? Dive into a juicy romance novel. Take a drive through the most scenic road you've ever been on. Visit the library and borrow a Japanese language class on tape. [Hope these help - and good luck]

My man boobs are saggy. Damn

    body shaping

I've only lost 39 lbs in 4 weeks but I have noticed I am not losing my weight symmetrically [more weight loss on my right side than left]. Who knows?

    Premier Protein (Costco)

I like to add PB3 [at Whole Foods] to the vanilla shake. It rocks. [and adds protein]

    Premier Protein (Costco)

make me slightly gassy [but nearly everything does]. I drink at least one per day [Team Vanilla - Chocolate is kinda like the un-cooked cake batter IMHO]
  8. That was one of the weirdest feelings when they removed that tube. Touched organs that aren't often touched as they pulled it out. Kind of creepy IMHO
  9. 46 years old chronologically, but 26 yo in my own perception. you?

    100 pounds lighter!

Brilliant! [And thanks for being an inspiration for the rest of us]
  11. No diabetes, cholesterol and high blood pressure meds for the last 7 days [after surgery only three weeks ago] In addition, the 20-something year-old, smoking-hot receptionist at our office told me that I was "looking fit" [i am old enough to be her father]. It was a nice complement.

    Sugar and Spenda

My nutritionist said Splenda is OK [use it in my coffee each morning]
  14. Popsicle [15 K SF snack] and fave meal of chicken thigh, spinach and ricotta [with chicken broth protein powder - about 280 K]. Mmmmmm
  15. My doctor allowed coffee. [bless him]
  16. In the shower this morning I noticed that I am not losing my gut uniformly/symmetrically. My left side belly [spare-tire] is larger than my right. [Really!] I further explored in the mirror [post-shower] and I am certain that this is the case. Additionally, the chub on the inside of my thighs seems to be expanding [not lessening as with the rest of me]? Anyone else seeing this non-symmetrical weight loss? Yikes.

    Iron to low

Post-surgery, I lost too much blood and required a transfusion. My H&H remain low [as is my Iron]. Doctor suggested a diet of chicken livers, spinach and turkey [all pureed - as that's my diet this week]. My Iron and H&H has climbed each week. Wishing you best of luck

    exercise

I am walking. Trying to get around the block three per work day, [and I get to walk on the beach on the weekends]. Three miles/day and 21/week. With my Nike Fuel Band, I get to record all this calorie burning and compare myself against friends. Its kind of fun. Good luck.
  19. It is Not a sprint, but a long distance race. Are you measuring and using a food/exercise log? For me, that's my motivation/driving force. I know that if I put less calories into my body than I expend, I will lose some. My Nike Fuel Band tells me how many calories I am burning each day. I measure each meal and calculate the calories. If I was successful each day [less calories in than out], I see a small result, [sometimes only in tenths of pounds]. But it works for me. I hope you find something that works for you. Keep strong and brave. We have faith in you.
  20. Wishing you the very best

    Remission stories?

I had surgery on the 18th December and I am off all meds. All. Diabetes, cholesterol and high-blood pressure [i was on 7 prescrptions prior to surgery]. I am officially over-the-moon excited. 28 lbs down doesn't suck either.

    December Dates

I had my 2 week post-surgery mtg with the surgeon today. All went well. My H&H are still low due to blood loss [8 & 27 - should be 15 and 40], but I am down 28 lbs and I am off insulin all together. Feeling good [worth the difficulties]. My mood gets better with each passing day as I am also feeling better eating the pureed diet]. You all?
  23. After 4 weeks on liquid diet, I was so very excited about the pureed phase of the diet. This morning, I had two egg whites with a little garlic and was in heaven. At lunch, I tried a 4 oz can of tuna with a tablespoon of light mayo. Felt like I swallowed a brick - or maybe a cinder block. Excessive salivation, light-headedness, tight stomach and general malaise. Ugh. Two hours later, I feel better, but may stay with Protein shake or Soup this evening... Anyone experienced something similar? Did I just over-eat? Your thoughts please.
  24. Sweater, long sleeve polo, t-shirt and long johns. My wife thinks I am crazy as I used to walk around the house in a t-shirt and boxers year-round. Ch-ch-ch-changes....
  25. Good on you. You've accomplished so much. Why worry about failure when you [alone] control your own destiny.
