When I lost all that weight between 9/2009-12/2010 I had to buy new clothes. Gave my bigger ones to my hubby's co-worker who had WLS. Unfortunately I ended up shoving the smaller stuff to the side and had to buy some new larger stuff when I gained it back. Boo! Won't be doing that crap again.

Super happy-today I put my boots on and I didn't have to tug them together to zip them up, and once they were zipped they weren't stretched at the sides! Finally, my wide calves are getting smaller. Whoohoo for NSV's!!

    What ya eating tonight?

I'm having a hard time trying to figure out what to have for dinner these days. Chicken used to sit very well, but not any more and even if its very moist or in something liquidy like soup. Matter of fact, no meat is settling well in my tummy. Feels soo heavy and sharp. Was previously able to eat salmon, not anymore, now I think shrimp is it.

    Ouch

Best advice I can give is don't wait until you're hungry to eat, that's when mistakes happen. When you wait you usually eat too fast, too many big bites and don't chew long enough. It's important to eat distraction free (&slowly) so you can focus on the signals your brain is giving your body. For me, meats and breads sit heaviest, so I have to make sure to strictly limit the amounts and make sure the bread isn't doughy.

    back in the hospital

Rest up and like the others have said, we're here for you in support and prayer. You're in a good place to be taken care of, allow them to do the jobs they're trained to do and make you better soon. God bless.

Whew, I made it through my first week back to work...now that's an NSV as far as I'm concerned. By 1pm on Wednesday I wasn't sure I'd make it and was trying to decide if anyone would notice if I curled up the bench in my cubicle and tapped out for a bit, lol....but I persevered with the help of a friend texting me and reminding me to sip, walk, and sip some more-even when she got the flu and could barely eat or drink herself. I love the friends we make here! Encouragement is such a great thing. I also did well with my protein and food intake by being well prepared and following some other suggestions from fellow "losers". Didn't see a big loss but I'll take my -1/2lb and be happy with it cause my attitude was much improved as well as how I felt in general. Thanks everyone for helping me make it through this week with a smile and a grateful heart. (My boss and co-workers thank you too, lol!) Have a wonderful, active, and healthy weekend!

I can't drink it anymore, tastes funky. I also only use ff flavored creamer. I've only tried decaf since surgery, but I liked it fine pre-surgery as well. I'm strictly a decaf tea drinker now (except when I treat myself to a chai tea with soy milk from Starbucks or some other such place). Yum!!

I tried the premade chocolate premier protein shakes from Sam's (they sell them at Costco too). They're good, rich and not chalky, 160 cal for 30g of protein and 11oz liquid. I also take a bottle water, mix in an orange crystal light (or target/wal-mart brand) with a scoop of vanilla whey protein powder from GNC. Tastes a lot like a lighter version of an orange juilious or orangesicle ice cream bar. Can even add ice if you like. It's 140 cals, 16.9oz liquid and 20g of protein.

Thanks, I'll have to look for those.
  18. You got it! I love sharing support and motivation! This has been a hard few weeks for me-tons of functions and foods-trying to figure out what to eat and stay on track. Next week is my 1st back at work. I thank God for this surgery because when I'm at a baby shower or party with all these people (family and friends) I pay more attention to what I am doing as well as what they're eating and drinking, (the types of food and drink and the amounts). And I think about where I was, with my plate or two of food, several drinks and sweets-I think how the hell did I do that to myself?? I don't like to say never, but I hope my pouch never grows and I'm this limited for the rest of my life because food is so dangerous. Even a bite here and a bite there can get you in to trouble of you let it!
  19. I've come to realize almost every doctor and nutritionist has different guidelines. The main thing mine drove home was to get in at least 6 cups of water and 60-80 grams of protein a day, both are hard to do in the beginning. I was also encouraged to watch the amount of sugar or sugar alcohol in everything and make sure the grams of protein are about twice that amount. If in doubt, call your NUT, it's their job to help guide you through this.
