Kale (or spinach), beet, carrot and apple. Good secret- Throw a green apple or a kiwi in with anything and you'll never taste the "green" stuff!
What part of the beet do you use? The greens or the beet itself?

I did try adding a scoop of Protein Powder yesterday. My powder is vanilla flavored and made it way too sweet. Might work with an unflavored one, though.

I sometimes get stomach pains if I eat popcorn with any kind of flavoring. If I stick to the unsalted, unbuttered, 94%fat free cardboard popcorn (lol) I'm fine.

I'm almost at a year and a half and thankfully never had dumping.

You're never obligated to forgive anyone for anything. But if you don't, that's a choice you make, and that choice is on you. Everyone deserves a second chance, especially if they genuinely are sorry and feel remorse. That doesn't mean anyone is obligated to give that person a second chance, but if they choose not to that is their choice.

Well, I thought about that. However, my surgeon doesn't want me drinking any Protein Drinks, because they are not solid food. And, my psychiatrist told me it should be solid food. A Protein Drink would be so much easier though!
Really? It's funny how doctors differ so much. My doctor wants me to drink Protein drinks. My nutritionist gave me Protein Shake recipes.< /p>

Today I have this one:
1/2 pear
1/2 banana
1 cup spinach
1/3 cup organic rolled oats
1/2 tbsp chia seeds
Cinnamon
1 cup Water
3 ice cubes
I will be sipping on it all day, but it's yummmmmy!

Bowel issues and nausea are common. Most docs send you home with nausea pills. I had virtually no pain post-operating (thankfully) but I did have nausea off and on for almost a month after. It takes time for your body to get over the shock.of surgery.
Never had diarrhea but had (and still have) Constipation issues.

Hi all. I'll just start off by saying that I have bipolar disorder. I was doing awesome for months, but recently I had a hypomanic episode which fell into bad depression. I stayed in my bed all weekend and basically stared at the wall or slept.
So I saw my psychiatrist and he told me it was malabsorption. He said he's seen this with a lot of his patients who have gastric bypass. The particular medicine that I'm on, latuda, requires 350 calories for it to be absorbed into the body. I decided to have a larger meal in the middle of the day. Now, I need to find something that is 350 calories and healthy. I can't put a bunch of healthy things together because it would be too much to eat.
Anyone have any ideas of some meals that I could have that would be healthy and 350 calories?
Thanks!
How about a Protein drink with some extras mixed in? Peanut Butter, etc. It'll be healthy and give you Protein and should be over 350.

That's not too many carbs? A couple of times in the past few days I got Immunizer™ from juice It Up: Apple, cucumber, spinach, celery, kale, lemon. Then, not wanting to spend $6 a pop, I picked up the ingredients to do Mean Green: cucumber, celery, apple, kale, lemon and ginger.
I've never been told to watch my carbs. I do try to limit Pasta and bread, though.

I get that as well, especially when I'm full. I think it's just the air coming up from your pouch.

Thanks everyone!

Anyone know what we can take for allergy meds? Should I stick with Tylenol Sinus?

With this surgery, it's almost like you have to live your life around food. I can't just go to any restaurant anymore. I have to research their menu first and make sure there are things I can choose, or I stick to the same places and the sane things. Grocery shopping has become very organized. I have to have a specific list and stick to it. I can't just shop spontaneously like I used to. It's a complicated way of life, but considering the results, it's worth it.

So I've been lacking in Fiber, as most of us probably are. I've decided to start having 'green' drinks for Breakfast. I had one yesterday and another today. Strawberries, raspberries, 1/2 banana, and spinach. I'm going to pick up some Chia seeds this weekend to start adding them as well. I created 3 recipes that are high in fiber and acceptable calories for a meal. I'm already feeling a little better having them the past 2 days. Anyone try these or have smoothie recipes to share?

I think you're all correct on the lack of fluids and Fiber. Thanks! Anyone have anything to chime in on the birth control issue?

I should also add, I started taking 2 stool softener daily last week and went quite a bit last week. I wonder if maybe I cleaned myself out and there's just not enough built up yet to go.
