I love them! They have a similar hard, dense consistency as other protein bars, but they taste really good. -

Thanks to my sweet bf buying me a box of apple pie Quest bars, I was finally able to get my 60 grams of protein in. A girl I work with said they're bad for you because they have a lot of sodium, but I was told to focus on protein and not worry about calories, carbs, etc. so if they're helping me get my protein I'm all for it. -

Point is (I realized afterwards that I never said this lol) it's much easier to wait 30 minutes before and after if you make sure you're NOT thirsty beforehand. When I'm at work I'll usually try to drink some extra water right up until 30 minutes before my lunch break. -

I went out to buy a salad take-out yesterday. While I was being made I realized I was thirsty and it would be awhile before I could drink. I went and got a drink and made sure I didn't eat the salad until 30 minutes after I finished it. Figured if I'm already thirsty it'll only be that much harder to wait to drink. -

30 minutes before and 30-45 after for me. I'm slowly getting used to it. I actually find that if I don't wait long enough the combo of liquids and solids in my pouch aches a bit. Helps me to remember. -

Try adding a little skim or 1% milk to it to think it a bit. Or you could make a protein smoothie with it. -

Plz help!

Lying down makes it worse for me. It passes faster if I stand and sway back and forth or walk around. Glad it finally passed for you! -
What ya eating tonight?

Perfectly normal. I have days every so often that the need to feel 'normal' overwhelms me and I'll eat things I know I shouldn't. But once I get it out of my system I'm ok again. -

I spend about the same, but the quality of what I buy has gone up tremendously. Some weeks I spend less. It depends what I buy. -

Problems with poultry...
pookybear replied to barroshe's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Give it a break for a month or so and try again. chicken can be harder to digest. -
This is a GREAT idea! If they have food for Weight Watchers and Atkins, why not WLS? I'd buy it!!

When was your surgery? For the first few months I couldn't do any chicken without getting sick, but I'm fine with it now at almost 5 months out. -
According to my home scale I'm exactly halfway to my goal today. So excited! Just 100 more pounds to go!!! Here's my 4 day post op pic next to my 4 month pic I took 2 weeks ago.

Thanks so much! I love taking these pics because I don't really see the day to day difference. But when I put them next to each other I do!

Lately every time I drink one it feels like it just sits in my stomach like a rock. I so want to give them up but I know I can't. Do they do this to anyone else?

Not losing weight
pookybear replied to RnY Gal in WC's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You may still have lost. You gain weight from all the fluids in the hospital and you'll lost that first, so t may just be that you've lost that and now your body has to work on losing its own weight. -

Why no water with meals?
pookybear replied to Pam Peltz's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was told if you absolutely need a drink, drink no more than an ounce. I occasionally take a couple small sips when I'm eating if I need it, but no more than that.
