Wow, almost to the 1 year mark...to think back to where we all were 1 year ago today & all we have learned! I don't even recognize myself in the old pictures, yet as I pick up a pair of jeans I look at them thinking "yeah right those are not fitting" so the mind has not cought up with the wt loss. I am no longer concerned about a number on a scale, my mind set is healthy & what I can do today to make tomorrow better. I feel better than I did a year ago & have no regrets! Love, love, love my surgeon : )

Hope you all are having all the success you can dream of. It's your tool & your destiny. Don't try to live through someone else's as your not them & don't have to walk in their shoes. Enjoy your journey!

  2. I almost had a break down at the super market tonight. I wanted to buy a chicken to roast it and the only ones they had were 4+ pounds. I don't need to make such a big chicken just for myself. I'm so sick of my diet and eating the same things. I work 12hrs a day and I'm usually too exhausted to come home and cook just for myself. I'm so sick of tacos' date=' chicken and meatballs. And not to mention I don't even remember the last time I hit my Protein goal. Any quick meal ideas that are easy and super high in protein?[/quote']

Just read ur post in email...my heart is breaking for you!! I'm a nurse & do 12's at night so I totally feel ur pain!! Not to mention, I just changed jobs so I only have 3 nights/wk now vs 5 at HMA. Anyway, I bring eggs & FF cheese, cottage cheese, a Protein Drink that heats up well (I like muscle milk) lunch meat, Publix chicken, cheese, yogurt etc. I add salsa to the eggs & it's pretty good. Salads are good, but at night I usually want something warm. Good luck Chica!!

  3. I totally feel ya, hate shopping no more than when I was heavy : ( it's not suppose to look this way, perfectly wrong after all we have been through to lose the wt! Should be ilegal : / I'm a nurse so I hear exactally how critical others are, ESPICALLY those of us in medicine!!! Of course I'm sensitive being on the other side of this now, but judge & be judged I say. At least we are heathy now.

  4. here's a bizarre question.. has any one eaten anything there not supposed to have and instead of swallowing it' date=' spit it out? you know just chew it up for the flavor, then spit it out when cravings hit?[/quote']

    Isn't that the multi-equilivance of "I smoked but didn't inhale?!?" Sorry, couldn't resist : ) he he

  5. 6 months out! I've had a major move from va to fl and now lost my job. So major life situations. Not that it's an excuse buf I'm only down 47lbs since surgery. I know I didn't start off as high as some but I do work out regularly. Trying to refocus and get back on track. #discouraged #frustrated

Hey I'm in FL too!! Sarasota, you? PM me if u wanna chat sometime : ) We're basically at the same wt, I think scale said 199.7 for a second, but I worked last night so I will weigh tomorrow.

  6. Am I the only one who has lost less that 40lbs in 5 months?? I am so discouraged that it is just ridiculous. I had my surgery on Jan 30 2013. Day of surgery I weighed 286 today I weigh 250. I am sooo done. My doctor does not see a problem. Yet I have not found anyone anywhere who has had this procedure and lost so little intially. Please someone tell me that there is someone else out there like me.

I was same wt as you DOS, (1/14/13) I'm 215 today. That said I have a fairly active job & minimal appetite. Good luck, praying for you!!! : )

  7. I hate to hear this Marla & I hope u will contact ur MD to get in sooner : / I have had amazing results. Wearing clothes from Charlotte Rouse at the moment!!! I can wear large scrubs & sum medium tops. Yeah, the top of me is literally gone (Thank God for Victorias) & I'm still 218, my goal is 140. I have lots of saggy areas but absolutely NO regrets!!

  8. By looking at you, it doesn't appear that u have that much to lose. Smaller person, less calories required for daily activities. So basically if ur wobbling around like a meatball with legs (as I was a few short months ago) ur loss rate will be higher! Be glad ur not in that position!! I too had a failed sleeve from 2007 that I paid cash for in Mexico!!! Can you say desperate?!? I regained all but 40 lbs prior to the RNY! Good luck : )

  9. Just a quick note to all Jan post ops.....As I sit & recall exactally where I was 3 months ago today - lying on that gurney about to undergo my life changing event - then think where I was before my 2 week pre op...oh frightening!! I am sooo grateful to have had this done! So I'm not a cook, u don't lose as fast as a 25 yr old but I'm me & I wouldn't trade it for the world. I hope you all can look back & have this insite as well. The more u have to lose the greater loss u will have weekly as it requires more calories to maintain those higher weights. If ur slowing about now, it's cause ur body doesn't require those mass amounts of calories anymore so it's suppose to be a slower loss, congratulate yourself that you have come to this point!!! I'm celebrating my 3 month today at beauty shop : ) pics to follow I promise! Have a great one all....PS Not feelin like a cow so much anymore : )
