  1. Hello all' date='

I am Melissa and I had gastric RNY on 04-08-13. My starting and highest weight was 265 and on surgery date I was 253 and today I'm 225! I have been eating ok so far all soft foods like sugar free pudding and cheeses and chili and other stuff like that but I haven't loss any weight in 2 weeks!! I'm feeling very defeated and frustrated! I'm not sure if this is normal! Does anyone have any ideas or info to share? Thanks so much for listening!!![/quote']

Hey Melissa. I lost 20 pounds in the first 13 days then stalled for 2-3 weeks!! You will hit stalls a lot then lose a few pounds and stall again. Very normal. My surgery was nov 27 2012 and I am down 71 pounds. It gets very frustrating especially the first few months. The last 2 months have been better for me mentally because I know the routine now. Stall lose stall lose. Lol. The first 2 months were the hardest mentally but I promise it gets better :)

  2. Hi!! I don't know if anyone remembers me. Karmagirl. My surgery was 11/15/12. I have been feeling great and have lost 60 pounds. No problems since surgery. However' date=' I just had a positive pregnancy test. I can't believe it... this wasn't supposed to happen. Undecided on how to proceed. Not sure if I am ready to take risks?? <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' />[/quote']

Congratulations. Make sure you follow closely with your doctor but I have seen several people go through the same thing. Just make sure you take good care of yourself!!

  3. I just found out my husband will not be able to get out of working the week after my surgery and I just wanted to know what people's experience was. Did you find that you really needed someone around when you got home from the hospital? What kinds of things did you need help with? And for how long a time period? My surgery is on a Friday morning (yay) so I will have part of a day home after being discharged before my hubby has to go to work. I assume I will be sleeping a lot...Oh and I do not have kids. Thank you so much!

I think it will also depend on if you are having open or laparoscopic.

  4. Yea Jess! I am having a good Day too! I bought a 1x shirt a few weeks ago' date=' (was in and have still been wearing 3x tops)because it was on sale and thinking it would be awhile before I could fit into it. Well it is red, so I thought I'd try it today for v day. And it fit! Not only that, but it also is not tight! I am so happy :)[/quote']

That is great. I like to Celebrate each milestone. This is not the easy way out like some think and every time I accomplish anything with my weight goals I get excited. A 3x to a 1x is amazing. Keep up the great work. I am so happy I found this site it feels like I can relate to almost every post so I know we are on track!
