    belly/ab exercises?

I had open (not sure if that matters). My physician told me nothing like that for 6 months. I am allowed to walk right now haven't been cleared got anything else yet.
  7. I have been eating spinach salads. I also found a really yummy dressing it is called Litehouse red wine and olive oil.
  8. I don't really drink the protein shakes that much anymore. I did for the first 3 1/2 weeks but now I get my protein from tuna, chicken, things like that. I had a very hard time drinking the protein just too much. Plus I am very picky. I will try uping my calories though. Thank you.
  9. When was your surgery? I have been on regular foods since week 3, I don't know if that is the issue. I track everything I eat though in my fitness pal, I am only allowed to walk right now but I do that. I am pretty close to 500 calories average per day since I can't eat too much at one time but I try to eat several small meals per day like I was told to. Getting very discouraged. I see people throwing up big numbers and I definitely am not doing that. I worry that my surgery didn't work..If I could just lose 1 pound every few days I would be thrilled. Instead I lose a pound gain it back the next day. ugh.
  10. I have had some issues sleeping but I had open and am still wearing a binder 24 hours a day so I think that is partly my issue. My doctor did put me on medicine to help sleep.
  11. 11/27/12 Surgery - Almost 5 weeks out Day of Surgery Weight - 238 Current Weight - 214 at a stall for 3 weeks now Anybody else stall for this long?
  12. I am 3 weeks and 1 day out. The first 13 days I lost 20 pounds. Then over a couple of days lost 2 more pounds, immediately gained them back then today step on the scale and have gained 2 more. Is there something wrong with my body, did I already hit a plateau? Am I just going to be fat forever?
  13. I see some people are already working out. I am only allowed to walk right now. I still have a very open incision. Just curious who did open vs lap? I did lose 20 my first 13 days but have not lost any since. I was having trouble eating but can now eat anything i want which scares the crap out of me. I can not eat a lot though. Getting in about 400 calories and struggling to get 50g protein in. Maybe about 60% of my water intake is making it. So I am striving for 800 calories, 70 g protein and the full 64 oz of water. I never really had too much pain the worst thing is that I have a 4 inch open inciion down my stomach and have to wear a binder 23.5 hours / day the only time it is off is during my shower. Just curios what other people are experiencing. Also I really would like some suggestions of what people are eating daily. I am extremely picky right now it looks like I will live off of grilled chicken plain for every meal. Thanks for the help
  14. I am only 2 1/2 weeks out but I did go see my primary physician the other day with concerns about the surgery..I was a little upset when I walked in and I left feeling the best I had since surgery she made a very simple statement to me. She said "Set a goal for the coming new year, not a weight loss goal not something you have to do like take care of your family or go to work but an incentive that you are striving to reach. Maybe start throwing your change in a jar to save for that vacation to show off that new slimmer body" I know it sounds so easy but I have a new goal. I am going to lose this weight so I can prove to myself that I can feel comfortable pool side. Her advice helped me hope it helps you.
  15. I put a little sugar free cheesecake pudding powder in my protein shakes, makes them yummy.

    Buyers Remorse?!?!

So glad I am not the only one that feels this way. My surgery was open RNY on 11/27/12 and 1 day I feel ok and the next I am in bed crying all day trying to figure out what I have done to my body. I am mad that I let my weight get so out of control I had to do this, and I am mad that I am not 100% back on my feet yet, and I am mad that I think I am hungry and then get something to eat and after a couple bites I am completely full. When will the "mentally hungry" part go away? I also hate that even though I am so happy I have already lost 18 pounds that the binder I have to wear makes me look worse than I did before. Sorry obviously today was one of the bad days for me.
