Thanks for the reply! :-) That's a good idea. I'll definitely ease up and go back to some liquids for a bit and follow everything again like I had been doing.

I overate. I didn't follow the rules today and ended up getting very hungry. I ate but didn't feel full so I ate a little more. 1/2 cup. Of course an hour or two after the fact I now have that STUFFED feeling like I ate a four course meal. I'm almost two weeks post op. Because my lil pouch is so new do you think I did any permanent stretching or damage? Before posting this I read other posts and Internet searching but only read about others who were further out post op.

If you're the one who nearly died from the complications (sorry I can't remember) then yeah I can see why you would be feeling this way. It's hard because you're right we all did this to ourselves and any complications make it that much harder when most others are going right along. I don't have any awesome words of wisdom for you but I am glad that you are making it through. Try to remember in the grand scheme of things, this period of your life is just a tiny blip on the radar. But here and now, that is easier said than done, I know. If you can try to hold onto the fact of a year from now all this hardship will be a distant memory and you will be well on your way to a new healthier and happier you. Hugs your way.

    Full liquids with protein?

Oh okay I'm sorry I misunderstood, I got it now. Well, like bakawaka stated about the Protein, that is the key to losing the weight! If you cannot drink more than one Protein shake, then get some unflavored protein powder and add it in to yogurt and soups! If you aren't getting enough protein, that would explain why you can't get a momentum going. Yeah I'm with you, let's be online buddies! I don't have anyone in real life that has been through this surgery either. There are definitely a lot of questions and emotions that we encounter that only those of us who have gone through it can fully understand! I'm glad we found this app, too. It's been extremely helpful. Does your surgeon offer any support groups? That might help for in person if you needed it.

    Full liquids with protein?

I had surgery on 12/10, so I'm one week post op too! I have lost exactly 10 lbs from the morning I weighed in at the hospital the day of surgery. If I'm reading your post correctly, you've lost 11 lbs in one week, is that correct? If so, your weight is not creeping off! That's excellent!!

    Full liquids with protein?

Wait. I just read your surgeon wants you to drink ONLY one protein shake?? I get if they want you to drink only one when you start eating but until then it's going to make getting all that protein in very difficult... I guess you could get unflavored and put it in your soup. Some companies make a chicken flavored protein powder as well.

    Full liquids with protein?

I'm in the same boat. :-( having a hard time getting everything in. I can't stand the protein drinks I've tried. I've got more samples on the way though. Can't wait until the soft food stage. It will be easier to get more protein in.

    People and their opinions.....

One of my requirements was to go to two support groups. I already knew that I was going to do RNY. When they asked what surgery I was considering and I said RNY, I got the SAME reaction- every head turned and it was an instant chorus of "No!! You don't want to do that!" Then they tried to say how horrible it is based on some other people's horror stories, etc. It was wild!! So I feel you on that one. Needless to say, my second support group at a different place accepted everyone of all surgery types. :-)

We can have sugar free popsicles. So as long as the rest of the nutritional label is under what they need to be then I don't see why not as an occasional treat. Check the label on the box and compare with that of a sugar free popsicle! (or google it)

For the Calcium citrate I am using some samples I have from Bariatric Advantage, they are lozenges/chewables. Some companies have the chocolate chews for calcium as well. Try to get calcium citrate with Vitamin D. For the rest of my vitamins I am using Celebrate. My B12 is sublingual liquid.
