  1. My dad told me to have my ducks in a row by contacting my insurance. They reassured me that the surgical center would know exactly everything that needed done. I had to attend a seminar first before anything and then fill out all the paper work. Center then contacted me 2 weeks later and had me pick a physc from a list and see her next. Once she cleared me then I was set to see the surgeon. After that they sent me to the nut. Then I had to wait for everything to be submitted through insurance. That took about a week and half. This Friday I got for my preop with surgeon and then to the hospital for 2 hours, start diet on Saturday and survive until the 20th! All insurance companies are not the same. I'd start by calling them unless you are self pay.
  2. Yes good luck to us all! I stopped caffeine and all carbonated drinks 3 weeks ago. This past week has been my hault on Advil, (which I was an addict too) Tylenol sucks. Trying to lower the carb intake now until Sunday. Oh stopped alcohol this past Sunday.
  3. Depends on your insurance! I just started my process in November and have surgery scheduled Feb 20th. I had a physc eval, Nut appointment, dr consultation, then insurance denied so I weighed back in and was approved. (BMI was 39.6 and then went to 40.6) I go this Friday the 8th for my preop surgeon and hospital appointments and my 10 day preop diet starts Sunday the 10th.
  4. I'm suppose to go out for my "last meal" Saturday with my husband. I requested sea food- scallops, shrimp, crab....
  5. So surgery is Feb 20th. Preop diet starts Feb 10th. I'm consumed with wanting everything I know I will not be able to, and will not allow myself to eat!
  6. Good luck Monday peeps!! This Friday I see surgeon and hospital and then next sunday I start my preop diet. Sooooo anxious!
  7. Prying for you EDM!!! Can't wait to hear from you and know you are recovering!
  8. I've got anthem bcbs- I'm in KS. It was pretty simple. Started this process in November and my date is in Feb!
  9. I've been contemplating preop picks!! What the heck right? I don't want to see myself, but I especially don't want to live with this self for long either! I believe I will have my husband take them. Panties and bra- it will be terrifying but it will be humbling!
  10. I'm rowing in your boat right along with ya! Only my dad (because he has gone through RNY 3 years ago), and my husband know. I've told work I will be having surgery and I was vague- one asked if I had cancer and I said no, this is a good surgery, nothing like that. They know I can no longer take Advil- and that's it! My sister and mom have no idea. I called my mom tonight but couldn't tell her. I'm not ashamed, I just don't want to be judged, frowned upon, gossiped about, questioned, or basically watched! I want to have surgery, total change of life style and always make the correct choices- I know next August when school starts back up and we've been out for the summer I (HOPE) to look a lot different, then maybe I will shed some light of what I've been going through. Who knows. I kinda feel like I'm not being truthful because I'm holding back information and that's the real part that bothers me the most. I feel like I'm lying to everyone I'm not telling.
  11. Hi everyone! I just received my paperwork in the mail. Has surgery date, 10 day diet, NEXT FRIDAYS preop dr appointment and hospital appointment!! Crazy! So next Friday the 8th I see surgeon and hospital center, that Sunday start my 10 day preop diet. I'm thinking I need some serious sea food Saturday night as my last meal!! Surgery on the feb 20th- I'm just so looking forward to march 20th, and April 20th, May 20th, June 20th and July 20th and and and!!!!! No more stupid tight jeans I can't stand. No more wearing black running pants because nothing fits. No more hoodie, no more hiding! Hello shorts, hello tank tops, HELLO ANNIVERSARY FLOAT TRIP July 22nd!!!! Hello new sexy me!!
  12. Ill be in your shoes starting Feb 10th for my 10 day preop diet. I can't even imagine.... I am off coffee, all carbonated drinks and only drinking Water. I've started the sugar detox by limiting carbs to only at night. I need to work on chewing, and ONLY sipping not gulping! Good luck, keep posting I like seeing everyone's day and emotions and what I have to face myself!
  13. My out of pocket is $386.52 150 deductible 20 office copay The rest was what was left over from insurance paying at 90%!
  14. So far I'm responsible for 386.33 $150 is my deductible and $20 is for a copay. The rest is my 10% I will owe!
  15. My date is feb 20th!! Feb 8th I see preop dr visit and the 10th start the diet, I'm excited to get the info in the mail!!!!!
  16. We have a grocery store called hyvee- I will have my surgery on feb 20th. I've done low carb in the past and I like this protein powder.
  17. I did tear up but I was in front of a teacher asking if everything was ok- I fled the class when my phone went off and I knew the number!! Now I have to tell my team I will be gone for 2 weeks. I won't be descriptive- just tell them I'm having surgery. EEEEKKKKSSSS!!!!!!
  18. FEB 20th!!! So this is what it feels like to be hit with crazy emotions!!
  19. I think it's yummy! There are lots of good flavors too.
  20. How does this compare with what you all have been using??
  21. You are nursing!!!! Your body needs so many more calories then! It's probably in starvation mode. I would think you should constantly nibble on good proteins all day, and constantly sip. Upping your intake would surely fuel your body to drop more weight especially while nursing!!
