The only way I get mine in is if I do 2 protein shakes a day with 20g+ of protein each. I always have a greek yogurt which is another 12 to 16 depending on the brand and then my other 2 meals are usually refried beans and salsa or canned chili with beans/turkey, sometimes beef. I also sometimes will have an egg with a sprinkle of cheese on it for a meal. I hope this helps some....but I have to still do the shakes to get it all in since my meals are so small.

So I was a little bummed with my weight loss being slow so I drank/ate 65g of protein today and drank 6 bottles of water. I felt lighter which was strange and from this morning to now, 12 hours later I lost .8 pounds. I wish I could lose that everyday, lol. Now I will probably not lose for another week, lol.

I don't think so. I can eat more now that I am 5 weeks postop. I used to be able to do about 2-3 oz, but now can easily do 4-5 oz for my meals unless they are meat or fish, then not as much, but anything soft I can eat 4 oz of in 25 to 30 minutes.

I had the same issue and found a different shake from GNC (their brand) and I was fine. I can't handle milk though, it makes me sick. But I am fine with cottage cheese, regular cheese, yogurts, so not sure what is with the milk? I hope it gets easier since you need the protein and shakes are the best at this stage to make sure you get all the protein in.

I loved clam chowder soup too, but for some reason I just can't handle the smell of it anymore. Bummed about that, but I will find new favorites I guess.

I had the same problem with fish, well all meats as well. My doctor said it is because of the texture and to start out with only 1 or 2 bites and that is it, then eat some veggies or something. So if you try it again, only do 1 or 2 bites starting out and see if that helps some.

So, I had dumping with peanut butter around 3.5 weeks post op. My dr & nut said to try it again around 5. Well I just did almost an hour ago, NEVER AGAIN. This is one time I should have not listened to my doctor/nut. Horrible experience. Luckily it lastest only 30 minutes, but I will never try peanut butter again!

So, I sometimes I forget I had this surgery now, it is strange. Today, I got up around 5:45am (kids) and drank some water, made my protein shake like usual and then went about my day leaving my greek yogurt on the table, forgetting about it since I wasn't hungry. Then at 12 I looked at the clock and started making lunch for my kids, then saw the yogurt. I am just no hungry anymore, so hard to remember to eat, it is so strange since food consumed my life before. I still get some cravings in the evenings which was my worst time prior with eating a lot. I feel like I can eat better now, but just not much of it. I still feel weak, not sure when I will feel better, but I get tired so easily which stinks. I do take B12 (under tongue). I did the shot, but my doctor likes the sublingual one since it gives you a better daily amount instead of tapering off towards the end of the month, but I feel tired still. My house is a mess and I have been home a lot the last few weeks and I just am so tired. I decided to skip my walk today and clean and had to take breaks all the time. Still not done and have been doing it since this morning, physicially and mentally exhausted. Has anyone noticed a certain food that gives them energy? I am not allowed caffiene Protein isn't doing it for me since my intake is around 55 and some days towards 70. Frustrated with weight too, I have been not losing much the last few weeks, only a pound here and there.

Every Dr is different, so I would ask yours or your Nut. Mine said no to popcorn until around 6 months. They talked about the kernels getting lodged, but again every doctor/nut is different with their recommendations.

So, I had some bad cramping today and end up going to see my primary dr. She thought it was a uti or something and we found out I had a kidney infection. Well she did a check of below too and found out my uterus is enlarged too so I went for a stat ultrasound. They wouldn't give much details but talked about Fibroids. I know this is off topic, but has anyone had one? I already have had children, no plans for anymore, so I am not worried about fertility. I am thinking if the pain doesnt go away with prescription/infection, and I do have some uterus fibroids, maybe a hysterectomy? Not that I want to do another surgery, but I don't need my uterus anymore. I read that most are benign, so I hope this is my case as well if I have one. Also, only 1 pound loss this week, I am sad about that, but I guess better than gaining

I was told to not since their is no health benefit from it. If you have unflavored protein powder you could add some to it and maybe eat some other protein first and then have a bite if you crave it. I had wonton soup which doesn't have much health benefit either, just was at a restaurant with not many choices. I will be more prepared next time, I don't think I will have it again, it was good, but I didn't stay full very long.

Well it is official!!!!!! After gaining a little, I finally went back down and I am in the 240's now (Yes I wasn't suppose to weigh myself until tomorrow, but I couldn't stop myself). Next goal.....the 230's!

I started on pureed on week 2 and soft food I started week 3 through 6. So I tried the wonton soup on week 3 when I was on soft foods. It, as you know, is a noodle wrapped with some meat, I just cut it up and chewed well. It went down fine and I felt fine, but I was only able to eat 1.5 of the noodle part. I didn't drink the liquid part, but I am sure you could, just do it 30 minutes after as your liquid, but it does have a lot of sodium, so I just ate the noodles yum

Started working out more, actually running some even on the treadmill. Well I gained 1.5 pounds....just when I thought I was going to break the 250's. But the time of the month might be doing it too. I finally have stopped weighing myself everyday, it was hard not too, but now that I am working out too I am only going to weigh myself 2 times a week. Monday and Thursday otherwise I seem to stress about it for some reason My coworker made a comment today about my weight and said wow your butt and legs look so much smaller. I am happy about that, except my breasts are going too...bummer, lol. Now if my stomach would go all would be good, lol. The binder is not very comfortable when working out, but without it, it hurts, so I guess I will keep it for now. Anyone use anything else for working out that is not as uncomfortable?

I have had the wonton soup and it was good. I couldn't eat much of it. The noodle part was good, gave me some energy (carbs), but of course wasn't very nutritional, so I made sure my other two meals were. It was nice to sit with others and eat something "normal".

Sam's club has protein powders, but I am not sure if they have unflavored, I only buy flavored there. GNC sometimes has good deals if you check their website, they do buy one get one sometimes. It seems like they have a special every week. Walmart carries some protein powders, but again I haven't bought the unflavored, so not sure that they have it, I do know they have flavored though. I wish I could be more help, sorry.

I need to also figure something out with protein shakes since I need more protein since I don't want to start losing my hair either. The taste just isn't good anymore. I tried peanut butter but got sick. I think I will pick up some frozen fruit to see how the smoothie would taste/tolerate. I have mixed the vanilla and chocolate powders together which are good. My problem is when they are thick they are hard to drink and I can't do milk, I feel sick, so I am sticking to mixing with water. The joys of the first few months and figuring our new bodies out.
  21. I am a size 18 right now, size 20 dress. The wedding is 8 months away and the bridesmaids dresses are being ordered in 2 months since she has 6 bridesmaids and the store said we had to, to get them in time. So, I hope to be a 16 (18 dress) in 2 months (or smaller ), but still when ordering I will be 6 months before the wedding, not sure what to do. The dress, per the store, can go in 2 sizes without looking much different, it can go up 1 size only. More than that depends on the dress. Thoughts?? Do I dare order a size down, so maybe a 16 dress (14), since dresses run about 1-2 size smaller than clothing. That would mean I would have to be about 200 pounds to be in a 14 at my height/body structure. Or should I order 2 dresses to be safe? Advice needed! I am currently 3.5 weeks postop and weigh 252, height is 5' 10.5"

That is too little of calories per my Dr. I am doing between 300-500 right now and he said that is putting me in starvation mode which can stalls things. The more protein you are taking in the better and more loss you will receive. He also said water helps things move along, so those 2 are big with weight loss. I am losing a pound every 2-3 days on average now. I would suggest doing some weight training, that is what my nut told me if I want to lose more weight since muscle burns calories faster. Maybe up your excerise routine to get over this hump? I have read a lot of posts about stalls throughout, but they all seem to not last too long, I am sure you will start losing again.

Made a mistake Now I am suffering. Why did I do that? I ate 1 tsp of low fat, vanilla ice cream...ooh the sugar did me in I guess. Stupid, Stupid, Stupid me. We finished a late lunch and My son was next to me with a small bowl of low fat ice cream and I thought one tsp won't hurt, so I took a tsp and put it with a little unflavored protein powder to make it "healthier" so I thought. Nope. I guess I don't have to worry about Milk of Magnesia now. Just wish I didn't have the cramps too. Yuck. Be warned.
