  2. Yeaaaaa for southern, Sammy, t, Lisa and all the other LOSERS who have made it past the hardest hump!! I hope recovery goes smoothly and good luck for all of us who will be joining you soon! Starting to get nervous!!
  3. You know what too? She looks great!!
  4. Oh actually I hadn't thought about it before, but google eggface. Her blog is something like "the world according to eggface" and she has a part called "a day in my pouch" that shows numerous days of meals she eats all the time. She's years out, but her food looks good!
  5. Lolol yes I think I'll have to have a last meal, but you know, I'm just not sure of what yet! It's getting close though!! 3 days till liquid diet. Omg I'm so nervous for that. Vicki I'd love to know what someone's daily meal plan looks like too. Might be a good question for the postop boards. Ibs I have diabetes and high cholesterol so I think sometimes I don't even recognize the way I feel isn't "good", it's been that way for so long. I'm really excited to feel good again. Confession time- I eat so much at a setting I feel sick and horrible- and exhausted- after. I don't even know why I do it. So ready to say bye to that!
  6. Thanks for the advice... I actually have mucinex, I'll start it now!
  7. I'm so nervous!! Surgery is 12/29. I went to my pcp today- I've been sick for awhile a cough, then laryngitis. He said its actually bronchitis and put me on strong antibiotics. He said I should be okay for surgery by the 29th, but I'm afraid my surgeon is going to take one look at me on Friday at my preop appt and say no way I'm a teacher so I have two weeks off. If I don't do surgery now I won't have a chance till march
  8. Good idea on freezing girl... Maybe I should try that too. Are you using a blender or something special? Have y'all check out eggface? I LOVE her blog. Such good ideas
  9. When's your surgery date Teka? I go in 12/29 and start my liquid diet Saturday. Honestly I think it's going to be soooo hard, especially with Christmas coming too! I wonder if sugar free Jell-O shots count as liquid diet? lolol
  10. Simply southern I am praying for you to get well and strong fast and get home to your babies. It's a risk we all take having major surgery but I'm sorry you're having to deal with such difficult consequences. In a year it will only be a memory and you'll have a new life with your family- it's all worth it- stay strong!!
  11. Please add me! I go in dec 29th!! Yikes :/
  12. Good luck Mondays!!!
  13. Add me too! Lolawaiting

  15. Surgery 12/29 it's happening so fast I can't believe the luck!
  16. I'll have to look into that too... I'm wondering if they're all the same price
  17. I start liquid on the 14th so this is my goodbye week to my old way of eating... Scary!! Lol
  18. Oh btw my exercise is 20 min of movement per hour after work, which means for 40 mins I can hang out, sit on my ass all I want, then the last 20 mins of each hour I walk- even if it's just around my coffee table while I watch tv... I have a super skinny friend who is a pacer, he can't sit still... I figure there's some correlation there. And my backup plan if I really want to cheat will be to nap... I read a study that said even sleeping is better than snacking lol
  19. My surgery is 12/29 and I have to be honest... I find it terrifying to think its even possible to go back to soda and Cookies so soon after surgery. Don't the bubbles hurt? I'm looking for friends on here that eat Protein first, look for natural, not packaged Snacks likes fruits and veggies, and who's new obsession is exercise instead of food. To be honest this is not who I am today, but it's who I want to be. I look at surgery as a restart. Reprogramming. Swilkons, can I ask what was your background before surgery? Had you done the research and really understood what changes were coming? I too am kinda a loner, which is why I started looking for a support group like this. My hobby is food, but I'm trying to find new things to take my time and I already gave up my diet cokes (and cigs, god help me lol) 2 weeks ago. I want to be successful and no matter how much I might want "normal" food after surgery I'm hoping all my journaling about why this surgery is important to me, what foods I like that are good to me, what losing weight means to me, how my life will change- and the memory of the pain from surgery lol will keep me from going back to my bad habits. I watch success stories on YouTube daily to remind me of what I'm working to- maybe keeping a personal journal or looking for inspirational stories from others will help you focus too? The videos are really powerful- a pictures worth a thousand words. I believe strongly that it is up to you. You will fal off now and then, but let that happen in a year... 18 months down the road... And the very next meal get back on the horse. Take pics monthly... Get ready to make your own video
  20. My turn is 12/29!! Can't wait to join you all on the post op side good luck to the 12/10 bunch!!
  21. 12/29 I'm a little shocked its all coming together so quickly, but very excited too!
