Am I Able to Eat TOO Much?

My surgeon said water load an hour before meals. Drink as much as you can. Wait 15 minutes, then eat, then no water for an hour and a half after! Seems forever but maybe that'll help you feel full

Woa that is super strict and my surgeon is super strict, or so I thght lol I started puréed today and yup, first meal was nonfat refried w cheese- the mexi in me too lol I mixed up the rest and put them in ice cube trays for later. I wasn't to thrilled with the magic bullet, but added water and it came out better mixed. I just pulled the glue off my incisions- doc said to have at it. I'm doing puréed for one week if I feel good, take it longer if I'm having trouble he said and a mandatory 2 weeks in soft foods. I was really kinda bummed tonight. I had about half of the 1/4 cup of beans and was full enough which was disappointing when I had been looking forward to "eating" guess those days are over. I had more tomato soup after that- after all this time on pure soups you'd think I'd be tired of it lol my second meal of beans went much better (I didn't add water to the first batch) and I ate the whole delicious thing and was satisfied. I'm going to need to find something to take up my time that use to be spent in eating.... The first 10 days were easier cus I was constantly eating soup even though I thght it was a bother

When was your surgery Raquel? I feel like I can drink tons too! It takes me about an hour and a half but I have no problem downing 10 oz of protein shake and this evening I had to stop myself from getting another 2 oz of soup... I mean I know 2 oz is nothing compared to what I was eating, but it feels so soon after surgery

Hi ladies! I'm in Dickinson, south of Houston also! Not far from Pearland. I'm happy to have the strict one- I need it lol I lost 16 pounds during the two week diet and I think it set me up in the right mind frame. Plus, he's cuteeee!! lolol I'm 8 days post op and am up to 1.5 miles of walking in the am (a little over 30 min) and 15 minutes of using a step stool as a stepper while watching tv at night (a SERIOUS workout!) When I first met Dr. Garth in October I was at 255. I ate SO much cause I knew it was to be no more that I gained a horrible 8 pounds- up to 263 by the time I started my 2 week liquid diet in December. I'm now at 240.3 and oh so happy about it. Having a super easy time getting down water and even protein shakes, as well as creamed soups. I love soup also, so I haven't felt too deprived lol Raquel- I noticed you said something about sushi- watch out if it has rice in it. Dr. Garth told me no kinds of rice, pasta, bread, crackers anything carb like (the stricty lol) Can't wait to meet up ladies! I have my postop on Tuesday in the am. I was thinking about going to hangout in discovery green downtown after if the day is nice and do some walking. If anyones free, you're welcome to join!

I'm a little more than a week post op. Before surgery loved the bariatric advantage shakes and still do now. Yesterday I was able to drink two and they're 27g protein each. Try those if you haven't yet. They're yum

There is a first for everything

My sister is drop dead gorgeous and really turning into a skinny minny. She was fat in high school, but never really obese. She started working out and eating less (not right, she eats horrible foods) and lost tons of weight. She got married, had a baby and has lost even more weight. She really is looking picture perfect and beautiful. She was my number one "I'll support what ever you want, but I think you can do it on your own" person. Every time I changed my mind, it was from her influence. My sis did "do it on her own", but she was never obese like I am. She said she's support for my brother bc he is much bigger than me. My sis has a... lets say sneaky way of saying things at times. Screw it, she can be nasty sometimes. She upsets me and my mom sometimes with the way she says things, but we won't dare say anything to her. She's def the type who would withhold our nephew from us so it's not worth it. Any way I decided to do surgery and she left town with her husband, got mad at my mom cause she wouldn't babysit (I needed help, I was having surgery.) She said she was sorry she couldn't be there and I said it was fine. Didn't think much of it at this point. After surgery I text her to see if she would drive me to my post op appt. She said "of course! We can go out to eat after. hehehe" Maybe it's just the way she is, but I didn't see much humor in it. She would come to visit with my 17 month old nephew and bring him candy bars to eat. Is that what you want your baby eating? I went to my moms for a birthday party today. I'd see her snickering at me and shaking her had as I was sipping soup, making comments like "oh chocolate cake, I'll have to run an extra mile tomorrow." Maybe it's my own insecurities, I just feel like she's trying to show me what I'm missing out on. Maybe she thinks I'm taking the easy route. That she has worked so hard to get where she is and I'm "cheating." Maybe she thinks she might not be the skinny beautiful one forever (trust me, she always will.) How funny there's so many of us with sister issues lol

I just walked a mile. In the rain. Which was perfect because you couldn't see the tears on my face. Not tears because it hurt or was hard or I was tired. Tears because I realized THIS TIME, if I do the work, IT WILL WORK. I'm not some freakish person who can't lose weight NOW.

Stealing an idea off eggface's website. She makes her protein shake into ice cream with an ice cream maker. Might not feel good if cold stuff gives you pouch spazms like me, but one day
