  1. I'm BCBS also, didnt test... Idk what the difference is... Best advice- do what your doc says!
  2. My doc said 2 months but from the first time I saw him to my surgery wasn't even 2 months, so I was worried. I went to my pre admin testing at the hosp and they said smoke free for at least 24 hours!!! 24 hours!!! I think the most important part and why doctors say no smoking months prior is so you fully understand and are committed to NEVER SMOKING AGAIN!!! It WILL cause ulcers and land you back I'm surgery. It's not an IF, it WILL happen. I take a puff or two of an e cig if I really feel a need, but still go weeks without even that.

Walmart, on clearance for 29 and I use bariatric advantage chocolate and pb2, but any protein mix will work. Eggface has lots of ice cream recipes. Great purchase!

Omggg guys, I bought an ice cream maker. Best. Protein. Shake. Ever! I also found PB2 at my store (if you live in tx HEB is carrying it) so it's chocolate peanut butter. I mean seriously. This is the happiest I have been food wise in almost 6 weeks lmao

    Can we eat tortillas

What do you guys think about campbells chicken and rice soup? I use to mix a can with a couple of cans of beans (ranch style gives it good taste, though it might not be so great for you), a can of chicken and a can of spicey tomatoes... think that would be okay?

    Should i be concerned?

I should rephrase... Totally normal in the beginning. It's blood from surgery. After about a week there was no more tar for me

Here's my dinner tonight... Shaved pepper mill turkey (measured out an ounce and half didnt come close to finishing), skim mozz and reduced fat cheese cus I couldn't decided- think the cheddar is better, and some garlic hummus dip. It was yum (like my plate says haha) but I won't put the plate away yet... I might nibble some more a little later

Also talked to my surgeon today. He said dont weigh food... It doesn't work. Just eat slow and pay attention to full signs. When you're full, stop.

First, love eggface, Shelley's awesome, but remember she's about 4 years post op. a lot of her recipes are things we can have one day. Also if you're on puréed or soft foods no crackers or anything with crunch. It can really hurt your pouch. Once you start normal foods crunch away

Today I had shaved blazing buffalo chicken breast from the deli with a slice of reduced fat cheddar and a tbs of garlic hummus dip for lunch and then some imitation crab meat and a garlic and herb laughing cow reduced fat cheese wedge for dinner. So happy to be on soft foods! During puree I was enjoying the refried beans, cheese and greek yogurt meal, chicken salad, and chicken fajita (grilled chicken, taco seasoning, taco sauce and cheese and yogurt to cool it down.) I have a spaghetti squash for later this week with some marinara and ground chicken/ turkey. Can't wait! I bought some books with recipes... I'll throw some titles up tomo to give you guys ideas

    Jan 14... My LUCKY day!

    Go texans!!!
  15. I don't use milk products either, but we can use almond milk. It's 40 cals for a cup of unsweetened original and makes the shakes more creamy. Can you use that?
  16. Girl I'm with you. I have a strict dr and think its great. Rice, pasta, tortillas- that's what made us fat. If some surgeons allow that, good for them, but I have been super happy with my fast weight loss and have decided to follow my doc... when I read others people's meals I don't want for that... I think how much faster ill get to my goal

I kinda feel the same. I'm doing fine with getting anything down, but my doc said try to wean off of shakes and use food for my protein... Can't get to the level with out the shakes so well see. I did by some unflavored soy protein so maybe it'll help. Any way... According to my docs plan I made a daily schedule. Thought I'd share in case anyone else could use. Btw my doc says no food 30 min before/ hour to hour and a half after (I did an hour or I'd never get my aqua in) and at least 32 ounces of water a day. This plan gets me like 48 oz so if I fall short, no biggie
