  1. It's had two spoons of it and I just had the fomies for about a minute straight :( I thought it was ok to have but I guess not! Anyone else get sick off of unsweetened applesauce?

While in the hospital, they opened up my capsules (I take 3 kinds) and put it in unsweetened apple sauce. I did just fine with it, even in the hospital, and still (3 weeks post-op), I still mix the capsules with it every night, and usually end up with 1/2 the cup gone (I buy the small individual cups) because of the amount of powder in the capsules. But everyone is different. I am 25 lbs. down...can't wait to go on down!!!!! GOOD LUCK!!

  2. I have a new "best friend".... Vitamin Water ZERO (make sure you get the ZERO kind) - It has 100% Vit. C, 100% B5, B6, & B12, Vit. E & A, Zinc, Electrolytes, and Biotin (which helps to have healthy hair). I see it on sale a lot for $1.00 for a 20 oz. bottle. I've always drank a lot of water, and nothing else much, except a few diet drinks. But, I am one week post-op and I'm having trouble getting my fluids down, even water. 46 - 64 oz. a day seems like so much to me know. But, Vitamin Water Zero has so many flavors to choose from and I've enjoyed the ones I have tried (and I'm a picky drinker...no lemon in my tea - no aftertaste, etc.) Just thought I would pass along.

  3. I count the day of surgery. I've been weighing every morning anf today is 9 days post op. I haven't lost anything in 3 days and I've been walking a mile everyday. I am so upset.

    Lisa :-) surgery date: Dec. 4th, 2012

Oh, no....I don't weigh every day because weight fluctuates. Only once a week is what I've always been told, so that's what I've always done...every diet. lol. So, I'm making my weigh-in day on Friday (if I can remember). lol

    Good luck!!

  4. Though I would share what I have found to work. Please add what you may have found.

    DiVinci SF syrups Walmart

Capella SF drops. capellaflavordrops.com tons of flavors!!

PB2. Amazon or bellplantation.com. Powdered Peanut Butter. One gram of sugar, 5 grams of Protein and only 45 calories. No oil. It's all extracted from real peanuts

Folgers Decaf coffee crystals - great for mocha shakes

Smuckers SF jellies (seedless). Good for yogurt too!

Do the SF jellies not still have too much sugar? I've always used the SF anyway. I'm only 1 week post-op, so I'm not eating that kind of stuff anyway..yet.

  5. I'm on puréed and in week four. I've been fine with tuna and cod.

Still on pureed at week 4?? I've done that one week, then according to my

packets, should be on soft foods Weeks 2 -4. I'm post-op 1 week exactly today and go to see

the Dietician Monday, the 17th. So, I will talk to her more about everything. I'm making notes

    with my questions.

  6. Well, I woke up thinking it was Friday, so guess what! I weighed. It's been exactly one week today since my surgery. Oh, and I have a question. Do you count the day of your surgery as post-op? I'm asking because I've noticed some new ppl counting it and some not. I'm a newbie, too, of course.

Anyway...... I'm down 10 lbs. plus the 5 gained in the hospital from all the fluids, etc.

  7. I'm trying to figure out what to do about my meds, also. I take A LOT of meds. When I get up in the morning, I crush them, and a little at a time, I mix them with Water (in a 1 oz. cup) and take them. I end up taking in 4 oz. of Fluid in the morning right of the bat. So, I'm scared to eat anything when I get up. Also, the 3 Calcium chews....I chew one after meds, then wait a few minutes, or whenever, and spread those out. So, then there's my night time meds, including capsules. I crush the pills and do the same routine with those....but was told to break open the capsules and mix with applesauce. I have about 4 capsules at night (one of them is huge). So, I feel like I'm taking in too much applesauce sometimes. It's confusing. I'm 6 days post-op, so I need all the advise I can get. I'm still TRYING to maneuver on this site. lol. I was horribly sick Sunday night...up on and off all night vomiting, which turned into diarrhea. Help appreciated!!

  8. We survived!! My husband finally told me he's ok! He has already been walking! He had his surgery last night around 10:00 because both of his flights were delayed. Any diabetics out there? My husband is having blurry vision really bad. It started the second day of liquid diet.< /p>

Retaining too much Fluid can cause that, too. Sometimes I can see with my glasses and sometimes I can't. My surgeon said that could be why, for sure.

  9. Wow! All is done and now I start a 3 week liquid diet on Monday and then surgery! Glad all the hoops are jumped through and so excited to start the real journey. I just want to thank all of you for sharing and for this forum as it makes me less nervous. Good luck all and I look forward to hear of your experiences once surgery is done.

Wow!! 3 weeks on liquids before surgery?? I only had liquids the day before surgery.

  10. I don't regret my decision at all to have the surgery, even though I too had complications. Now having turned that corner I can start acheiving my goals, too!

Hopefully everyone's complication and the fact that we can be so open on this forum about them, helps others with the same experience to not necessarily be fearful. Having the support from others that have been through this type of surgery, helps when others just don't get it! I had someone already tell me "told you so" when it came to the complication. Just wait nay-sayers! I will be successful!

I know how you feel,,,,I can just hear my mom saying, "I tried to tell you".
