What Exercise Did You Do Today?

Woo hoo, I am! 30 mins of elliptical and 20 mins of treadmill!
  3. Also I sewed two little pillows for the sides of my mask so it wouldn't dig into my face. It helps so much.
  4. CPAP saved my life! I had no idea how sleep deprived I was until I started using it. Please don't give up on trying to use it at least for a few hours each night. You will feel so much better. I went as low as 70% oxygen absorption in my sleep study...I had no idea how much the apnea was affecting my brain, organs, etc. Also my partner can finally sleep through the night without being terrified that I died, or woken up b/c of the loud gasping snores. I'd anything, do it for your honey!
  5. Today I see the Bari nurse and the social worker! This is getting real! I'm nervous, but SO ready.

    Starting to Regret.....errrrrr!

This kind of thing really scares people...ESP those who are also obese. I admit that I found it threatening and scary when a couple of people in my life were getting surgery. I thought, mistakenly, it was the 'easy' way. I was just ignorant of the process and ashamed of my own obesity. Now that I've researched and decided to get surgery, I know how difficult it is and how it is simply a tool... You still have to do all the things you would have to do to stay slim and healthy for it to work. Proof to me was 2 of the people I know who had surgery, the one who had the band didn't lose any weight for a year b/c of bad eating habits and no exercise, and the RNY person became an alcoholic! Scary! Certainly not the easy way out people might think it is.

    First round of appointments today

Thanks everyone! It went really well, and my next set is with the nutritionist, the ultrasound, and the medical director of the program on New Year's Eve morning! 2013 begins with hope. I won't have my surgery till June b/c of my work schedule, but I feel like time is going to fly. Thank you all again!
  8. Hi everyone, I am in the early stages of this process. I am 45 years old and have been fat most of my life. Lost and gained and lost and gained. I have my first major series of appointments on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve ; social worker, nutritionist, Bari nurse, etc. I already qualify medically bc of my BMI, sleep apnea and HBP. I can't wait to have this surgery, and I appreciate all of the posts I have read so far.
  9. Your words are very inspiring, thank you so much for sharing.

    Starting the journey

Thank you all for the warm welcome I can't wait to get my surgery approval! I'm a teacher, so I'm shooting for the first day of summer vacation, lol! That's why I started this process last month, the surgeons have very busy schedules!

What Exercise Did You Do Today?

Didn't go to the gym yesterday or today, feeling run down with a cold. Plan to get back in there tomorrow and this post will help hold me to it.
