  2. How are you doing and when did you convert?

SD: 10/10/12' date=' Converted from Lapband to RNY, HW (before band) 263, HW (RNY) 230, Preop 219, after surgery 223, CURRENT... 197 Yippee :) ONEDERLAND[/quote']

Doing pretty good. Hungry today. I converted last Tuesday, so I'm only 6 days post op. But happy I am finally under my surgery weight.

  3. Any fresh post opers experiencing sudden temperature changes? My house is still the same temperature yet I'm cold...and then hot enough to sweat. I don't have a fever and I have no other signs of infection. My muscles are sore throughout my back.

I've already made the mistakes I pitied people for doing prior to my surgery. Eating---anything!!! That is no joke. I want steak like I want air. Is it just that I want what I can't have? Typical. A nurse that had had the sleeve said she would take a bite and spit it out. My dog would like that.

Anyways' date=' I've lost 10 lbs since Thursday. I would do it again today. Hope everyone is feeling well.[/quote']

I'm not like that post op but I was like that during the pre op liquid diet. I want food too! I haven't had anything but keep day dreaming about it. At first I wasn't hungry at all but today I am. Hopefully my creamy Soup that I'm gonna try tonight for dinner will help. I can't wait to get to the soft solids stage in another week! Lol.

  4. Sitting here trying to finish up some things at work (and keeping my mind off the next few hours). I report in at the hospital at 10:30. Surgery at noon. YIKES! It's really here. Butterflies' date=' yes, but mostly hope for the future. Good luck to all my surgery buddies and everyone else having surgery this month. We can do this!

(This weekend I purged my pantry of everything unhealthy. As you can imagine, it's pretty bare. But, as my daughter said, "Doesn't just looking in the pantry make you feel thin???" Right now I'm mourning the departure of my old friends but yes, it's a step for sure!)[/quote']

Good luck!! Praying for you and everyone else today!

  5. Thanks Lisa. I had too much damage so I asked for the op to be split into two. Getting the band out and then having the bypass. I so hope this is the better way' date=' I was throwing up blood for weeks before the surgery, and throwing up in my sleep just didn't appeal to my husband any longer,[/quote']

Omg! How horrible! I'm glad it's out now!

  6. Hehe scooting over.

Hi there! I was banded for 12 years. I just had my surgery last Tuesday, but they took out my band and did my bypass all in the same surgery. My biggest pain site is where they removed my port from the band. I have had gas pains but nothing terrible. I'm only 5 days post op and I can tell you already that the bypass is so much better than the band! Good luck!

  7. I know what you mean about being scared to eat. Not because of weight gain' date=' but because it kinda hurts. I had a little bit of cream of chicken Soup today and I was miserable for a couple of hours. I think it had too much fat in it. I tried about 3 oz of Protein Drink, that went ok. You will lose, you are probably still swollen from surgery.[/quote']

Thank you. Still afraid to try my cream of chicken. I was really sick all day today but never threw up and I don't know why.

  8. All of you December buddies that have had surgery. I wish luck on your recovery. May you heal without major setbacks' date=' actually without any setbacks is even better. Good luck for every one that is having surgery this week. I'm on the 15th so very last/end of the week. Am nervous n excited. I am 40yo, whose divorce will finalize in March after 22yrs of marriage. (He has a gf that destroyed my marriage). Can't wait to get this new life started with just me n my daughters.

  9. I'm in Midlothian. Just south of Dallas. How is everyone's journey so far?

    Highest wt: 240

    Surgery day:229

    Today:231

I'm 4 days post op and I guess the weight gain is from Water retention and swelling but I sure will be glad to see the scale move again!

  10. I am 4 days post op and doing well. I'm very sore where they removed my port but everywhere else is pretty good. Still waiting to get back down to my day of surgery weight. I gained 4lbs after surgery from swelling and fluids. Maybe tomorrow will be my lucky day? !

  11. I'm having my band taken out too. Please tell me everything. How Long you stayed in the hospital? Anything I should ask my surgeon or anything you think I should know. I am really nervous and excited. Thanks for any advice you can give.

    Snow and Cdssmith

Today is good so far. I only spent one night in the hospital. I was up walking 3 hours after surgery. I was also getting in all my fluids. My surgeon said my band had caused so much trauma to my stomach that he had to remove a part of it. He is not the one who put the band in btw. My pain is pretty much only at my old port site. Since our ports are sewn into our muscle walls it hurts really bad when they take them out. I was in surgery for 1.5 hours. Still no hunger which is fantastic. Feel free to ask me any questions I didn't answer here and you can also find me on Facebook as Lisa Zaccone McGowin

  12. I hear you Lisa I had surgery on the 5th and the scale is going the opposite way..I haven't had much intake either and just left the hospital last night...I also started my cycle which wasn't due and they doubled up on the iv cause I had a difficult time voiding..so hopefully that's all why and I'll start to see the scale go down..good luck Lisa..maybe any of those reasons are the same for you too..

I had a hysterectomy just before bypass so that isn't the reason for me. But I was on iv fluids while I was in the hospital. This morning I'm down to 230.5 so just 1 more pound to go to get back to my weight the morning of surgery.
