  1. Well I've known her for a few years and I only heard about this since I told her about me having the surgery she was trying to discourage me from having it...I'm only 6 days post op and don't really have anyone else to talk to..and since my surgery she doesn't really talk to me anymore..if I tell her about the pain I'm in..she tells me quit whinning about it..I choose to do it..I don't know what I did its seems like I lost my best friend

Our surgery is impossible to be done in office! She isn't your friend. She is jealous bc you are getting healthy and she isn't. You can talk to us. :-)

  2. So I'm a little shaken up. Surgery is tomorrow' date=' was on Clear Liquids today and had to drink that magnesium citrate to clear my bowels. After that I wasn't feeling well so I laid down. My 7 year old comes in screaming that the three year old was bleeding and dad couldn't get it to stop. I jumped up, realized his teeth were displaced and we rushed him to the dentist where they did emergency oral surgery to remove two teeth. It was a brutal surgery since they were still attached to the bone... Lots of blood.

Anyways, as soon as the last suture was placed, I passed smooth out in the office, came to and puked my guts up. Also my stool is bright red, but that citrate drink was red.

Do y'all think I'm ok to have surgery tomorrow?[/quote']

Yes. Stool is red bc of the drink. So sorry for your son. Hope he gets well soon and good luck to you tomorrow!

  3. What happened msix? :( Just cause it was painful' date=' cause you can't eat the food there? Awe! Praying for you, whatever the reason. I have heard that anesthesia itself causes some depression as it leaves your body. Between that and all the other major changes I would not think that this would be uncommon, but if it continues, I would def call you doc.[/quote']

One week after surgeries I cry at everything and get very depressed. Well today is one week since my rny and I'm crying a lot today and very down. It's from effects of anesthesia.

  4. We survived!! My husband finally told me he's ok! He has already been walking! He had his surgery last night around 10:00 because both of his flights were delayed. Any diabetics out there? My husband is having blurry vision really bad. It started the second day of liquid diet.

My sugar is dropping today and I'm super shaky. Trying to drink a Protein drink now to see if it helps.

  5. I don't regret my decision at all to have the surgery' date=' even though I too had complications. Now having turned that corner I can start acheiving my goals, too!

Hopefully everyone's complication and the fact that we can be so open on this forum about them, helps others with the same experience to not necessarily be fearful. Having the support from others that have been through this type of surgery, helps when others just don't get it! I had someone already tell me "told you so" when it came to the complication. Just wait nay-sayers! I will be successful![/quote']

    Amen!

  7. My body just produces a lot of Fluid. It's a bit frustrating. But apparently some patients just react that way. This meant that I had to stay in the hospital for five nights plus I have to keep the surgical drain for an extra week. The drainage is getting less bloody every day (this is a good sign). I am hoping to get rid of the drain on Monday. Otherwise' date=' I actually feel great. I am able to eat solid food - such as grilled salmon or chicken as long as I chew it well. I have found that since I am eating Protein in the form of solid food, I am losing more weight and feeling much better. The extra protein has literally strengthened me. But I also have found out that i no longer can tolerate any dairy at all. I think that I am lactose intolerant as a result of the surgery.

    Wishing you success![/quote']

You are so lucky! I can't eat chicken till week 7. Weeks 3 thru 6 I can have soft solids though.

  8. I had my surgery at 9 am on December 3' date=' 2012...,I HAD AND AM STILL HAVING MASSIVE COMPLICATIONS ((ICU 4 days and still in the hospital)) so it's not just people who don't listen to the doctors who have problems I didnt even get out of the operation room without massive issues[/quote']

I had no issues and most don't. But a few do and it isn't usually diet related, like Southern. My aunt was in ICU for 7 weeks then rehab for 2 months after that. She was never able to go home to mess a diet up. In her case I believe she had the worst surgeon on earth. She is trying to sue and has a good case. He put in a feeding tube in a completely wrong location. That's just one thing he did wrong.

  9. Alright I just got the wind knocked out of me..' date='putting dog out and he knocked me off my feet. I caught myself but twisted a little bit. I have some more pain but the incisions are intact. Am I going to be okay? I think I was more scared than hurt. Advice please[/quote']

You should be ok. Keep an eye on those incisions and if the pain increases or stays at the same level for too long call ur surgeon.

  10. I'm only 5 weeks out tomorrow but I have been craving pizza so bad. So I made it this evening. I used whole grain tortillas 6 inch' date=' Tomato sauce, low fat mozzarella cheese and turkey pepperoni. It was great, healthy and no dumping. My daughter loved it as well.

Sent from my SGH-T989 using RNYTalk[/quote']

Yum! Can't wait to try! Did u microwave or oven?

  11. I've had the cooked pepperoni slices and they are good but I want more of a chip taste....not worried about it triggering me...we have my FAVORITE chips in our pantry right now and I did eat a few at my daughters bday party but I wont keep eating them.....that's why I'm looking for something as an alternative. There are several different brands of Protein chips....high Protein low calories and fat....just want to make sure what I order is gonna be good....not just taste like flavored cardboard....lol. May have a few Turkey pep slices done in the microwave today to satisfy that craving until I decide what to order :-)

Let me know what you order and how it tastes. I'm not a big chip eater but like to have the crunch now and then.

  12. Cjoyce' date='

I have to say chips of any kind are a slippery slope for me...I can't think about them because of triggers...but I have an alternative for you that is both high Protein and crunchy and salty like chips...pepperoni slices cooked till crisp in the microwave...put about 6 slices on a papertowel and microwave about a minute...they become crunchy and very crisp...I like the turkey pepperoni slices the best...I also use them to dip into humus!!! Yummo.

Hope this is helpful to you.[/quote']

Sounds yummy! Gonna try when I can have food again.
