  1. I'm not sure. I have to call the office tomorrow and schedule it. And the on-call doctor called in a script for Prilosec to help it/them heal' date=' which I had been taking for years until they took me off of it after surgery! I am so upset and furious right now! I'm glad to hear yours are healing and you're feeling better though. Can't wait until I can say that!! I'm worried why mine ulcer hurts and yours didn't tho. Lol. See, my anxiety is kicking up! :([/quote']

They gave me prilosec too. Well omeprazole. Same thing. Just keep taking that prilosec to help it heal.

  2. Lisa' date=' wondering if you had a lot of pain with your ulcer? My stomach aches so bad! Dr. said you cannot tell the severity of the ulcer, as some that are bad don't hurt a lot and others that are not that bad do. I haven't been throwing up blood or having any blood in my stool that I noticed. Is there anything you can tell me as far as the pain of these things? Any other info or reassurance would also be greatly appreciated too! The on-call doc said they can run from being merely a nuisance to being life threatening, so as you can imagine my mind if reeling. :( Thanks![/quote']

I have no pain with mine. All my pain was associated with the stricture. I still have the ulcer but am not having any pain. I'm so sorry you are having so much pain

    Your EGD is tomorrow right?

  3. Ok! That makes me feel better! What is the egd like? Do they put you in twilight sleep or out and will I need to miss work? I also smoke and they were basically telling me that was the cause' date=' so I am trying to be soo strong and not smoke, it's so hard!![/quote']

I was put to sleep. You will need to miss work just the day of the EGD. My throat was sore when I woke up and I threw up once but I had a lot wrong with me. I had 4 things wrong and a procedure done while I had the EGD. I was so scared but I'm not for my next one bc I know it isn't bad. I take xanax daily for panic attacks and anxiety so I know the fear. Please try to stop smoking my surgeon won't even do the bypass on a smoker.

  4. Omg!! I am reading that these ulcers can perforate and be fatal. I have panic disorder' date=' so this is NOT helping me! Has anyone had experience with this?[/quote']

I have an ulcer. Just calm down. I'm fine and the doc said it should resolve on it's own. I have my 2nd egd in about 4 weeks so we will see how mine looks then along with them dilating my stricture more.

  5. I had wondered if they work. Let me tell you though about the lift. I can't wait to have it done. I've finished having children so that is #1 or 2 on the list of needed.

On a little darker note' date=' yesterday I was referred to a GYN oncologist. Been diagnosed w complex hyperplasia atipia. So complete hysterectomy for me in a month or two. I'm 40 I would have loved a second child but it never happened for me. My daughter is a Jr in HS, so I think I need to get my precancerous organs out of me. After the hysterectomy they take cross sections of the uterus to make sure there isn't cancer in other areas of the uterus. Anyone else on here have this, or a close family member?

I had cervical cancer and that had to come out before my bypass. I was able to keep my ovaries. I'm 34 with one child. She's 3.

  6. It's not a "I ate something wrong" kinda hurt' date=' it's more like somebody kicked me in the stomach. It does hurt to bend, sit, even pass gas, and forget about actually using the bathroom in any kind of way! I'm hoping it's not a hernia.

The chili is actually pretty watered down so it's not so hard to chew it to death before swallowing. Aside from the chili I just do liquids and 1 shake a day if I can fit it in.

Jodi I hope you feel better asap Twin![/quote']

Maybe a gallstone or bladder infection. Praying you get answers and it gets better.

  7. Yes I have lotion and I bought the Benadryl cream so many talked about the itching. But I guess I don't use anything on the sores till after 2 week post op appt. those nurses were like drill sargents about what to do and what not to do cuz I had asked. I am scared to suck on a SF Popsicle right now all I do is sip the Protein drink and sip my Water they are both in 10 oz bottles and when i am done I just refill them and go again.

As I was saying earlier about the gas up high in my back shoulder blade area I seem to belch more then it goes out the oth end. One of the reasons I didn't let one of my girlfriends from Dallas come here to be with me after surgery because I am modest about farting. And so many folks said they stunk badly and was alot of it. I am not having any of that. Wonder why?

No I don't even pass gas in front of my husband. Oh he has no problem with me. But I have always been weird about it. I even get on my 5 yr old granddaughter when she laughs and says oops I farted I can't help it and laughs some more. But I guess things could be worse

I never had bad smelly gas either and still don't.

  8. Jodi I told dr roller when he gets in there to see if he could find the alien in my stomach. He thought that was rather funny. Lol

I know alot of you said you were sleeping in a recliner I tried and can't. I sleep in bed with alot of pillows. And they told me in the hospital I could sleep on my sides which I do. Just not on my stomach which I don't. Sending hubs to store tomorrows more Water. Gas x. SF Jello. SF applesauce. A themometer . What else should I get?

Lotion. Some really moisturizing and neosporin. You are gonna itch as you heal. The neosporin helped the most but now that I'm 4 weeks out I use lotion all over

  9. When drinking the sugar free packets in my Water i can only use 1/2 a package. More than that is too much and I don't feel well. I had hiatal hernia as well before surgery' date=' bad reflux, but Dr said that the Hiatal hernia is always fixed by this surgery.

I haven't had to take my reflux med since. If I use full packets of the drink mix, I probably would have too.

I don't put anything in my water. I have never liked flavored water.< /p>

  10. I hope you're talking to your Dr. ..what the heck? I used to have lots if trouble with acid reflux and heital hernia but not since surgery...they need to do something for you....I'm sure right now it feels like you made a mistake but once you're feeling better you will be happy...

Talking to his office but he is out for the holiday. They have called me in thay carafate stuff. I can tolerate small sips of Water but that's it. If the Rx doesn't help they want me to go to the ER. I would really like to wait until after New Years since no one can do an EGD till then anyway. Told me to stop my Vitamins since I throw them up anyways.
