  4. Be careful going cheap on your Protein. Trust me the cheaper you to the more you pay for it with the grade of taste. I've found that a few companies on line will actually work with your PPO Insurance and bill them for your monthly Protein and Vitamins. Shop around and ask ask ask...

  5. I completely understand' date=' I'm down 100lbs since surgery 6 months ago, I feel like I don't know who I'm looking at in the mirror anymore, and with all my complications after surgery, the constant pain and everything it feels as if my weightloss is going to continue rapid.. It's worrisome and scary !

    Original Weight- 257 pre-op : 240 CURRENT WEIGHT :163lbs GW: 125lbs[/quote']

We're the same weight... I notice your goal weight is 125... OMG it seems so small. What size are you wearing right now? What size do you want to be?

    ~Leticia **HW: 259**PreOp: 216**SURG: 3/21/13 **Discharged @: 221** 3 mons post op. CW: 164.0 lbs. --- Only 14 lbs to my goal ---

  6. Wow! 21 to 2! Mine are 17 to 5. I've always been over weight too. My smallest weight was 155 but I starved myself and worked out excessively. It lasted about 2 years then I went back up. My biggest was 314 but I'm 294 now. I can't wait to have my surgery so I can be a.healthy 155. It's amazing how fast you lost your weight. If you don't mind me asking' date=' did ypu end up with loose skin?[/quote']

I have loose skin but I'm pretty pleased on how its snapping back. My arms actually look amazing and I think they were my biggest fear. I didn't want flaps. Buy hey we all know it comes with territory right. I work my arms out like cRaZy daily.

Now my tummy.. I have a lil come-lap and that will not be going away no matter what I do. I will say tho... My lil $5 panty gurtle from Target will take it away for the day. LOL

The more weight and exercise I do the flatter the done-lap fold becomes. But yep.. its there.

Now my inner legs have I think what is called as tags. It's obvious that my snap back ain't snapping back there. My inner theighs droop a little... But I'm okay with it. My Dr said to allow myself a full 2 years to lose weight, tone and let the skin shrink back as much as possible before I start thinking the negative. If I get a chance ill take some pics and inbox them to you. LOL

  7. Leticia where did you find the blue bonnet Protein shakes

There a place here in Stockton called Greens Nutrition. It's on 8 mile road. You can even get your Vitamins there and low to non sugar condiments... Snacks, noodles, .. all kinds of stuff.

  8. My Dr requires it but since I had went from 259 down to 216 during my time I was required to work with a NUT to learn how to eat... My Dr said I didn't need to do the 2 week diet.. just the 24-48 hour cleanse.

2 weeks before surgery I was actually asked to stop losing because I was under the required weight to have surgery.

So I pigged out the 2 weeks before surgery... Well at least tried! My body refused to allow it most of the time and would put me on timeout sending me to the bathroom with the runs or to vomit. I tell you... Once you start eating healthy your body won't except anything else. Not even those darn Girl Scout Cookies. LOL

  9. I've tried....

    3 different brands from Walgreens

    Bariatric Advantage from online

    Pure Protein from Trader Joes

And.... I've finally found my love.

Blue Bonnet Protein!!! It mixes well, all natural, not gritty, doesn't separate when it sits, no artificial additives. Even mixes well with my yogurt. It comes in vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, blueberries and original. Super high in Protein too.

It's a little pricy. I pay about $50 every 2 weeks which consist of one container of vanilla with 14 servings for $33 and 8 single packages.. additional flavors @ $2.65 each.

Its so yummie is rather drink my shake then eat actual food.

  11. I am 15 months post op and have completely stopped losing :( I started out at 216 and got as low as 163. I asked my surgeon at my yearly check up and he said that this is probably where I will stay. I told him I did not reach my goal of 140 which is 23 more lbs. I eat right' date=' exercise daily and I am following all instructions to the letter. He told me to stop focusing on the scale because I did wonderful and I should be happy with what I accomplished. He also said that I was not that large to begin with and had less than 100 lbs to lose and people that are in this weight group sometimes do not reach their goal weight. I frustrated but thankful at the same time, I can't possibly do much more than eat right, exercise !!! I also have thyroid issues where I had it removed and need to take thyroid meds the rest of my life. I hear ya and totally understand where you are coming from :([/quote']

Oh wow... We were the same weight at start and now. I guess I would be okay with staying here cause this is actually a food size for me. I just need to tone now... BUT I'm ONLY 4 months post op so I'm feeling a little jipped.

    What size are you BBdoodle?

  12. So the last month I've stalled out between 163 and 166 lbs. Out of 13 months of my weight loss journey I've never stalled for this long. Can this be a bitter sweet thing being that in 4 months post op of WKS and already 12 lbs from my goal weight and needed to slow it down drastically. OR ... Is this the end of my WLS ride that I get and I need to take another route?

Has any other WLS folks stalled out for this long too?

  13. Is anyone else really sensitive to smells? Mainly people's breath? For some reason now I can smell people's breath from like 10 feet away. Not a super power I want :-) at night when I'm laying in bed with my wife I can't face her without wanting to dry heave and it's never been like that before.

    Oh Em Gee.... YES! ABSOLUTELY!

I can small everything... Especially breath and BO. What's bothered me lately is my newly turned 2 year old. It's definitely time to seriously focus on potty training because AS SOON as she pee pee's in her pamper it hits me and I'll reach to feel her pamper and yep... It's warm!

PS.... The DMV; Walmart and the Emergency Room is off limits for me. These places smell HORRIBLY GROSS!

  14. Yes. I started covering about a year ago. We're Christian and I'm the only woman in our church to cover but I feel like the Holy Spirit made me do it. lol. A series of events happened and then me and my husband decided I had to stop fighting it and just do it! I'm not one of those people that think all women should cover but its what I have to do. :-)

I'd love to hear more. Can you inbox me your story?

  16. Thanks for posting the article. I've been worried sick about losing hair after surgery. I did a big chop 3 years ago and now my hair is shoulder length. I wear a head covering but my husband likes long hair so I'd hate to lose it. Have you taken Biotin or supplements to help with growth?

Why do you wear a head covering? Religious reasons?
