  3. I'm not sure if it gets better BUT after surgery you won't be hungry. I'm 5 days post op and my mother is here cooking and attending to my family. We eat healthy period.... But since I'm on that one week post liquid diet the smells are killing me. I want it all. Even been having daily night dreams about eating and pig'n out.

  5. The hospital that I had my surgery at had PT come in and give me a post-op daily walking program that they said works great. I will outline it for you.

    Week 1

    Day 1 6min walk x3

    Day 2 6 min walk x3

    Day 3 8 min walk x3

    Day 4 8 min walk x3

    Day 5 10 min walk x3

    Day 6 10 min walk x3

    Day 7 12 min walk x2

    Week 2

    Day 8 12 min walk x3

    Day 9&10 14 min walk x3

    Day 11&12 16 min walk x3

    Day 13&14 18 min walk x3

    Week 3

    Day 15&16 20 min walk x2

    Day 17&18 22 min walk x2

    Day 19&20 24 min walk x2

    Day 21 26 min walk x2

    Week 4

    Day 22&23 30 min walk x1

    Day 24&25 34 min walk x1

    Day 26&27 38 min walk x1

    day 28 40 min walk x1

    Week 5

    Day 29 40 min walk x1

    Day 30&31 42 min walk x1

    Days 32-35 45 min walk

This is what the physical therapist said that we should strive to do from now on. An hour would be ideal but at least 45 min walking at a brisk pace' date=' not so that you are out of breath but a little faster than a leisurely pace.[/quote']

    This is awesome

  6. This post liquid diet has been a challenge, but when my daughter (the helpful one) decided to break out her Toy R Us Ice Shaving machine she mad her mommy sooooo happy.

She added a 1/3 of a packet of crystal light lemon aid flavor. Amazing! This is how I'm getting the majority of my liquids down.

  7. I thought dumping syndrome was when you eat to much or eat fatty and sugary things? I think you would have dumping and/or could bust your pouch. That's what I was told. I did cheat a little before my surgery but I am too afraid of the consequences if I do that now even a little. I am a believer I don't need to be that sick or worse to take this serious. I say its over now just don't do it again especially after the surgery. Everyone slips just don't keep it going. Hang tight. It will be worth it.

I agree with Nicki... The old saying... "we've came a long way baby" should be your motto. Never go back to the before.

One think your notice is you won't have that hungry feeling so it does make it a lot harder to binge ... You won't even look at that meal as an option. I can't imagine eating that much now that I've had surgery. My stomach would be so gassy, upset, tight and is be miserabl

  8. Had my surgery yesterday. I had four incisions and two of the hurt really' date=' really bad. The morphine hasn't touched it. I got very nauseated when I got up to walk for the first time yesterday. I made it 100 feet the first time to get the catheter out. I walked two more times - 350 and 700 feet. I am on clear liquids today. One oz every 15 minutes. It goes by FAST! I had an Iron infusion last night and will have two more today. Should go home tomorrow around noon.[/quote']

Congrats ... You're doing awesome. What's an Iron infusion ???

  10. Very normal and it may last longer then normal just because the surgery whacked out our systems. I had just gotten over my period one week prior to surgery and about a 5 days after surgery got my period it last 14-15 days was light but annoying...

Oh I'm so glad you responded to my post thank you. I was wondering what was going on. This period is so abnormal that I was just wondering if I was hemmoraging (sp). Every day it seems to push out the dark blood like its about to end and then pick back up later in the day with a flow then slow down again.
