Yes. I have done all the testing and surgical clearance, psych clearance etc, but my insurance is still reviewing it. they were supposed to be done last friday, i have been on two protein shakess mixed with water or juce and then a lean meat and veg for dinner since the 3rd of Dec. so i am 1.4 lb away from surgery weight....totaly reayd to go...but the insurance hasn't came back with an answer yet. how long have you been in the process?

I am so happy for you!!! At least one of us is headed there. I am still waiting and the insurance keeps moving the date that they have for it being turned in. doc faxed it the 27th november, they said they didn't get it until the 29th. they said 7 to 10 working days from then. Next they told me the nurse didn't start reviewing it until the third. but they still have no answer. it is driving me crazy. i have been on this horrible shake plan since the 3rd and don't think iam getting surgery this month, so i feel like i have wasted my time, except i am 2 lbs away from surgery weight....just frustrated, but i really am happy for you. what happens next for you?

My insurance doesn't cover it, but i have oppted to pay cash for it (if i get approved for RNY). it is supposed to help keep you from streatching out your pouch and is supposed to decrease the chance of regain because it helps you to keep the full fealing years after surgery....that is what i gather so far. I just wanted to know if anyone has had one and how they feel about their decision. PS if i have got the facts wrong...set me straight please. i want to know what i am getting myself into. thanks for any reply!

It is horrible. I feel guilty for stressing over my insurance. Those families must be devastated. I can't imagine losing one of my children.last I heard it was a whole kindergarten class, principal, staff. the guys mom and some others were missing. i was crying for a long time, It really puts in perspective how much time we waste doing trivial things when we could be spending it with our kids and loved ones. I am so grateful for my family.

I have done the phych eval, sleep study, chest xray, upper andlower gi, priimary surgical clearance. When they approve me(i like your opptimism) ijust have to go to a class about post op requirements and if i am at his requested weight, i will get my date. i have already started the 2 shakes a day, lean protien and veg for dinner. my surgeon is strict about the diet...no dairy, no carbs except from veg, fruit and beans...so i am excited , but my insurance is taking longer thann i thought. my doc submitted on 11/27/12 but insurance said they didnt get it until 11/29/12...but the actual proccessing date says 12/3/12...it is drriving me crazy to know what is taking so long. it is hard to be patient. do you have people at home to support you? and if it isnt too nosy, what is your starting weight? you dont have to say. i am 5'8 283.2 was my starting weight and iam aat 271.6 as of this morning. he wants me at 268 for surgery.

I'm glad everything went well. Take time and get well. Are you in a lot of pain? What did they send you home with for pain?

I know....I wish they would just approve me already....I've been on this shake thing for 10 days and an down 12. I need to lose 3.4 more....not sure what to do if they say I have other rquirements to fill.....what do you have left to do?

I took them all into consideration because I have lupus and take a lot of meds too. I am not approved yet but feel I made the right decision because I need this weight off as soon as possible. I am in a lot of pain and it is hard for me to move around because I am so stiff. So the doc said this would be best and that we would just adjust all they meds. I am sorry I can't be more helpful about post-opp, but I am still waiting for my approval and haven't taken the post-opp class yet. You can finding lots of good info by reading posts from others though. Welcome, and it is good to have another person who understands the difficulty of having an autoimmune dissorder. By the way when was your surgery?

I was just reading your other post about being down and swollen....I an so glad things have picked up for you. Has the swelling gone down now?

I can't believe how crazy waiting for approval is making me. The have had it so long. I don't know if that's a good or bad thing. I just want to know and move forward. I feel powerless and I wish I could do something to move things along. Good thing though, I found out that I can check the status of my referal Online through my account. So at least I can stop harrasing the insurance. It just stinks to have to see ''proccessing''. I'm driving myself crazy looking all Day. I just want this so bad and I want to get started. I have 3.4 lbs to go so of they call me I am so ready. I just need to stop stressing about it and let God take over. I know that He is in control and I just need to trust His timing.

Sorry you are having a hard time. i had another dissapointing day with no answer from the insurance.....feel like crying myself. we will get through it though and come out on the other side with a new beginning. take care
