Sex has been pretty much nonexistent since a couple of months pre-band...I figure I'll hang on and then...well...
-
I went through it and it was TOTALLY EMBARASSING!!!...I found my deoderant wasn't working for me anymore and had no idea what the problem is. I never had this problem while in Ketosis in Atkins. For some reason I can no longer use Secret deoderant. I found that Cornstarch powder worked well and I switched to a baking soda based deoderant (Arm & Hammer). After a few days I noticed the change. I'm sure its hormonal and chemical and whlie I'm not saying A & H is the perfect fit for you, clealry you should try a different deoderant until your body is back in order again. It will happen.

You know...I'll be bringing my own protein shakes too while i'm on the plane to Dallas this weekend. My band is always tight on flights but for some reason (until this posting) I never realized it was because of the altitude. You guys are always a wealth of knowledge.

Anyone out there near Maryland or Washington, DC
gypj replied to gunn4ya's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi Tonya...I'm no longer in the area (I use to live in Burtonsville) but I'd love to keep in touch if you're looking for a buddy. -
Kidding...yes...I can honestly say that Chicken and Peanut Butter isn't in my priority list of things to try but...I think i'll be okay.

Banded on 3/28...weighed in at 230 and i'm down to 212 and 1.5 dress sizes.

Moderators, please move this if it's in the wrong place. I have a pair of relatively new trendy jeans, size 20 (they're pretty stretchy) and a suit jacket (same size) and a pair of new Nike shoes (size 9.5 women's) that i'd like to give to someone. They no longer fit and I'd rather give them to someone here than to ebay them or deal with craigslist. If you can use them PM and let me know...first person takes all.

anyone thinking of buying lapband stock?
gypj replied to rene2005's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Sounds interesting but i'm sorta stock stupid...do you have to buy it as a bundle (like a minmimum 100 shares?)...do you need to use a broker? *sigh* I wish I were more knowlegeable about these things... -
Hi Isa, Ironically I remember you pre-banding and pre surgery with your bandages too. I met both you and your sister. Wow you look outstanding and what a diff! I hope you are enjoying it. Take care.

Hi Karen, First, thanks so much for your encouragement and comments about my fill issues. I am so frustrated with fills and jealous of those who manage to find a happy medium. My prayers and positive thought go to both you and your husband that you will weather this storm. Take care.

Has anyone else used Dory Ferraro for fills and what has your experience been?
-
Well...went to visit Dory in Soho for fill number 2...I definitely feel a whisper of something, but not a really tight restriction. Last time I got my fill (it was my first) I ate first and had no restriction afterwards...this time I had no food before the fill and while I feel something (i'm at 1.6) I can't wait until I can get it just right. I'll just keep the faith and try to be patient. I noticed now that i'm running my appetite is growing more frequent...that's my big fear. Keep sending the positive vibes please.

Hey Stacey, hope all is well and that you are healing okay...send me a message if you need anything at all.

I live in Hudson County as well and had my surgery in Mexico. I wish you the best of health in your pending surgery and future walk with your band.

I lost tons of weight on Atkins...and generally loved it. I could have up to a cup of day of most (but not all) veggies (which btw is maybe what I was already having) and fell in love with splenda...but those first 4 days were riduclously hard and I missed fruit and cereal. Now I sorta refuse to diet (which means my walk with wl will be slower)...eat what I want (generally...I never was a sweet eater but love food in general) and eat smaller portions. I'm schedule for fill number 2 (which hopefully will put me at 2cc's) and hope I won't have to revert to dexatrim to keep the food urges down...especially now that I've started wogging again. *Sigh*...I can't wait for it to get better.

I get my mucus first thing in the morningand my doc says its a combo of allergy and dairy products. Right after surgery and during mushy stages I had it bad...spit all over the darned place trying to get rid of the stuff...it was worse than when I catch a cold and had nothing to do with eating at all. That's a different mucus buildup...One comes from food...I also think some of mine was from the tube in my throat while I was under...just a thought.

I'm a case manager for a lawfirm.

My person doesn't use that needle...she says its not necessary.
-
I know about the mucus too...its so bad some days that I have to do the unladylike thing and spit it out. I get it almost daily and have determined that something in my diet is the culprit. I'm not heavy into dairy so I doubt its that. My first few weeks it was horrible, and now its a bit easier to handle...have you thought about muccinex?

WOGGING!! So that's what i've been doing all this time...It really is pretty exhilirating to do it and know you've reached another milestone...congrats!

I can eat all the scrambled eggs I want (and prefer the with a half a slice of cheese) but cannot eat peanutbutter at all. The first tie I pb'd on it I thought I didn't chew long enough...tonight I tried it again, chewed for everything I was worth and it still came up. Oh well...the band and the weather...both fickle.
