I've Had a Great Experience. So Sue Me!
MillyBell replied to MillyBell's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you all for sharing! Yes, the experiences vary greatly but just because we're doing well doesn't mean we don't need support as well. I'm so thankful to have been able to do this for myself and for it to turn out well so far. Celebrate your achievements. God bless! Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk -
Well all the beat to you. Keep us posted. Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk

Hey, Tink65! I'll be thinking of you! Where are you having your surgery (if I may ask)? I'm in the area as well. Went through the Khalili Center. 11/29 was my date. Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk

Just want to bang my head against the wall...

No enemy here! I read some of these threads and wonder the same thing! Thankfully, I had an uneventful surgery. Recovery has been great and I follow my plan to a 'T'. I'm going through a stall right now but guess what? It happens. I just don't get it. Some people are trying to eat cupcakes and pizza, etc. Why would you do that? I don't even want that stuff. My friend's mother had A few of her videos and she did lose weight. Not a lot though. It's just enough to keep you moving when you don't feel like going all out. The intensity gets higher as you work through the segments. Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk

Leslie Sansone has some great workout videos all centered around walking. This one in the pic I've had for about two years. It's a total of five miles but broken into 1 mile segments so you can work your way up. ...and you don't need much space. Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk

I'm glad to hear this is normal. I was feeling bad thinking I was just suddenly very lazy. I feel like I need a nap but I'm not sleepy. I get all my Vitamins and Protein in. I exercise some but should do more. Just tired. I'll just begin my third week on Thursday and can begin puréed foods. Maybe that will help some. Glad to know the feeling will pass. Oh! Great ideas! I especially like the coffee crystals for mocha shakes. Definitely have to try that. I've been wanting to use up my Isopure "Unflavored" powder. This morning, out of desperation, I was searching through the cabinets for something that could make the shakes better with light soy milk and I found some unsweetened cocoa powder (Hershey's, from my baking days). Total 3 carbs, 0 sugars so I added three teaspoons to two scoops of Protein and it turned out pretty good! Got 58 grams of protein in with no problem first thing this morning! One more in the afternoon and I'm good for the day. I may even add the crystals to that and see what it's like. Thanks for the tip. Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk

I had a moment this morning. I got out of the shower, dried off and wrapped the towel around my entire body! I realized I hadn't done that in a few years. I could barely get it around my top before but not around my bottom. Then when I got dressed, I notice I had to go in two notches. Yay for the nsv's. HW 236, DOS 234 on 11/29, Current 221 as of 12/7. I got steri strips (taped) as well. I'd call the doctor and have him take a look at them to see if they can be removed. Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk

I pooped!!! Lol. I was starting to wonder when that was going to happen. Especially while on clear liquids. What a pleasant surprise. I feel so much better now. I haven't been walking as much but now that I'm a little "lighter" I feel like I can move all day. It's the little things... Oh, yeah and 8lbs down since surg Thursday, 11/29. Uh, maybe not. I just peaked into "The Man Room" and there were mostly women responding so...when will we ever let a man have his space? Lol Never. Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk

You really do look great. If you haven't already, you should post this in "The Man Room" post-op group so you can get more men's points of view. IMO you look fabulous now, so you'll look fabulous then. Do what makes you feel complete. Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk

I have Aetna POS and they approved in 11 days. At first my dr office thought it was 10 days. On the 10th day they called to follow up and the case manager said they have 15 days but they ended up approving the very next morning. Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk

Hey Novembers! I made it through with no complications. Surgery was yesterday. Pain management is excellent. I only feel what I guess is that gas pain although I really can't call it pain. I'm recovering in a hotel room so it's very comfortable. I get up and pace the room every now and then. Sipping water I'm allowed 30ml every hour. I have my dr appt later this morning and should be able to go home from there. Cheers to the losers' bench. See everyone on the post-op group. Best wishes to everyone going in today. Welcome! You'll live this group. I've never been a "support group" kind of person but his place is great. Say and ask whatever is on your mind and someone is there for you! Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk
