I have had stalls too. I was starting to graize some and not always make the best choices so I started cracking down the last few days and dropped 3 pounds. Unfortunately I have developed a hernia at the incision that had been infected postop, so I had backed off my exercise some. Just got an elliptical and that doesn't seem to aggravate it, and doc gave me the ok. Looks like I have another surgery down the road. He wants to wait as long as we can, because the more weight I lose, the easier the surgery will be.

I have not been great with my exercise, I have been going to the gym and doing some of the machines and the elliptical but only a couple days a week. Other days I have been riding an exercise bike and doing the Wii fit, but I need to be more consistent.

My nut actually said no leftovers when I first started soft food. She said it is hard to tolerate. I actually did ok with them, but I guess many have issues.

I think I got my machine about 2 weeks after my second test.

Funny thing for me, the first time I drove was to go to the surgeon because I thought my incision was infected. I was one week out and felt pretty good, so skipped the pain meds and drove. But as I lay in the exam room and he was re opening my incision, I thought not a good day to give those meds up! Lol!

I was told about a week for driving, if off pain meds. They said to sit in your car and slam on the break to make sure you can do it witthout pain. I took 6 weeks off because I could. Short term disablilty and FMLA.

I took 6 weeks, mostly because I could. I'm a nurse, work 12hr shifts at a hospital. I needed the break from work because it had been super stressful. I had an infected incision that was reopened one week postop and was not completly closed again until about 6 weeks. I figured a hospital is not the best place for an open wound. Physically, I think I could have went back at 4 weeks.

I had a bunch of old leggings from my mom that I wore. I did get a few pairs of Danskin yoga-type pants from Walmart. They were in the regular size department, but they went up to 3x. They were my fancy going out pants, LOL!

I use Slow Mow Eating (Android) . It is more for reminding you to take each sip or bite. I use it when I find myself getting behind. You pick how much time you want between each sip, I usually do 120 or 180 seconds.

They are $25 for a months supply.

My doc uses Celebrate Bariatric Vitamins, but at my last visit gave me a sample of Bariatric Fusion. They taste much better and are less chalky. I take 2 Multivitamins in the am and 2 in the pm. No more separate Calcium.< /p>

HELP!!! I have gained weight since surgery..they say cause the fluids and aunt flow..but is that true a paradoxal (sp) affect with a lot of meds..am I having one with this surgery..I started my period 2 days after surgery (it was early) . I weighed myself the next morning and I was up 8 lbs from the morning of surgery. It took my the first week to get back to my preop weight. Definitely a combo of all the IVF they gave me and my period!

Congratulations guys! So glad everyone is doing well. Its a brand new life!

My plan calls for 2oz Protein and 1 oz "fiber food " (usually vegies or fruit) for each meal and 2 glasses of milk per day. This is about 58g protein. My nut says to aim for 60g of protein a day. I will sometimes replace a meal with a shake or add some Protein Powder to my food.

If you want to try tylenol just make sure your pain medicine does not have tylenol in it also. I was on Lortab (liquid vicodon) and it has tylenol in it. Many pain meds do.

Hi! I'm doing really well, feeling good. I've lost 45 lbs since surgery, a little slower than some on here, but I'm OK with that. It was rough at the beginning, I had a lot of pain the first couple days and had an infected incision which was frustrating. I have been lucky and have never thrown up and have only been nauseated a few times (mostly the day after surgery) . My advice is the same as most...walk and sip, sip, sip. Its hard to get all the fluids and Protein in at first, but every day it gets easier. My struggle now is eating slowly. It was easy at first but I find it harder as time goes on. Sending good thoughts your way.

I'm a nurse too, its crazy being on the other side, isn't it? My nurses were great too, and I had a couple awesome nursing students. I saw them more than I thought I would (had heard stories - I work at a pediatric hospital and we have to check patients more) . I guess I was lucky as far as the barium swallow - my surgeon only does them postop on his sleeve patients. I did have one preop and I really feel for you having to do it postop! Hang it there - the worst is over.
