Thank u!! People say words have power so I always tell myself (outloud) Im gonna get pregnant and have a baby!!How far out from surgery are you? Yes I have heard that too. My husband is as invested in this surgery as I am because we both know that the end goal will be children, nit for me to be skinny or "hot"....not that those aren't perks but our main focus is babies

I am 28 and have suffered with PCOS since I was 19, it went undiagnosed until I was 23. That is how I put in all my weight due to insulin resistance. Anyway my husband and I have tried since I was 19 to get pregnant to no avail. I sought out this surgery because it would help me lose weight which could help increase our odds of getting pregnant. My Bariatric surgeon is confident that this surgery will correct the metabolic issues that prevent me getting pregnant. With all of that said, I am a little over 2 weeks post op and I have had my first regular period in years without my medication ( I was taking metformin) or birth control. So I am holding out hope this will be our answer.

My surgery was 10/1/2012 and I am so weak. My NP to me I need to get my Protein in however last night I tried cottage cheese and woke up with back pains and cramps and all I could do was cry. I want to get my required Protein in so bad but i can't tolerate protein drinks anymore. Everyone says it gets easier but' date=' WHEN? This is hell for me.[/quote']Have you told your doc about this? You shouldn't be in that much pain all the time....maybe your stoma is to small or something happened. Better to check than be sorry....I still have pains when drinking if I get a little air or too much at once, it's so hard to push through and drink but you gave to, don't feel like a failure if your not getting all of your protein yet, it takes time. Just get as much in as you can and I found that cottage cheese was not for me. Try mixing your Protein powder in some unsweetened applesauce....it might help. I had my surgery 9/25 and it has gotten much better but I still struggle. I'm praying for you and that things get better for you.

Jen I do feel like half the battle is won. And now it is my turn to be in control. I am looking forward to this so much.Yeah once it's done it's like.....did this really happen? I'm really happy for you because I know exactly that moment when you are approved and the pieces slide into place just how awesome that feels and it keeps getting better. I have had some ups and downs since surgery but I feel like I have accomplished so much, you should be proud of yourself....we all should be

Ty elli is true all that IV liquid make ur self swell alotsurgery 10/09/2012
Yes wait to weigh....I weighed my first day out of the hospital and was 12lbs heavier than when I went in.....even though you know it's because you are swollen and full of fluids it still burns you up when all you have has is Water for days....lol But then you lose it and more in a few days and it's worth it. So my suggestion is wait

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh the millions of appts.....I managed to fit all of mine in the first month. Luckily my Insurance company had no pre requisites that I had to do which was awesome, besides have had 6 months or more of weight loss attempts which my PCP had documented over the years. I was approved by July but had a cruise in September that I did not want to be writhing in pain on so I put it off. But I had to see my surgeon every 30 days and not gain any weight which was so stressful but I made it. Hang in there, it will be overt before you know it.

So now im starting to regret having this surgery...I hate feeling sick 24/7 :'(
All I want to do is cry.
I have had a lot of not feeling well, I have been told it gets better with time. With everything your body has to adjust, I'm sure it will get better mine has.

All of these ideas are perfect, you will need Chapstick for the hospital. I brought comfy clothes for my 2nd day, once they pull the cath out you can wear normal clothes (bring baggy comfortable stuff, slippers with a non skid bottom for walking).

I am two weeks out from surgery and have finally been able to sleep on my stomach. I still can't sleep on my side yet, it's still tender. But if I lay just right I can get by on my stomach now. Surgery Date 9/25/12

My doc told me no submerging incisions for 4-6 weeks, but he also used glue on mine. I guess it is really up to your surgeon.
-
I held out for two weeks and then my hubby and I were very careful. I would suspect that it would be easier as a male if you were on top, than a female on bottom. I would suggest females to get on top, less pressure on the incisions that way.

I chose the bypass because my lack of weight loss prior to surgery was determined to be caused by metabolic issues. Bypass corrects those issues, where as the sleeve and bypass do not. Also your weight plays a factor I went into this program weighing 364, for my age and body type I should be 155, so I went into this needin to lose 209lbs. Through research and support groups the only patients I found who lot jay much weight were bypass patients. I do not regret my decision for bypass I am 2 weeks out from surgery and lost 22 lbs post op and it took me 4 months pre op to lose 40lbs. So now my total weight loss is 62lbs.....my doc told me I have already lost 27% of the weight I needed to lose and I am only two weeks in.....so with all that said I say if you have a lot to lose or metabolic issues, go with the bypass.

Mood Swings?

I'm two weeks out and my moods have been everywhere and I take a low dose mood pill, I have been on them since I was diagnosed with PCOS. So I know they must be powerful mood swings to come through my meds My husband remembered hearing that it happens in my support group meetings and has been really awesome. They say it gets better.
