  1. So, on Valentine's Day I will have my psychological evaluation. Let me start by saying I am very sane and I am getting this surgery for all the right reasons. My questions for those of you who have had your psychological evaluations are, what kind of questions do they ask? Is there something's I should or shouldn't say? Do I have to lay on a couch?(Lol) What's the deal? Never needed to have this type of evaluation so I'm really curious to find out what I will be facing.......(-; HELP

  2. Diabetes affects the entire body's organs so the proteinuria could be associated with the diabetes affecting the kidneys. I would think this would be even more reason to have the surgery. Whatever is going on is in the early stage or may be false positive so don't let it consume your thoughts until you go back to the doc. When is your surgery?

Thank you Suznc, I am Trying not to let it get to me. Trying to remain optimistic about the whole ordeal. /-:. I Still have a few More things to get done before it is submitted to my insurance company. I haven't been assigned a date yet but it looks like some time in February is what they are telling me.(-:

  3. HEY everyone, well, I went to my primary doctor yesterday and She gave me the "Okay" to proceed with my requirements I need for surgery. Here the problem. For some Reason the have found "PROTEIN" in my urine. This is the second time! I have to go back and see her on Tuesday to discuss medication. I'M a little worried because I Really don't understand what or Why this is happening. I have been diagnosed with diabetes. Could this be the cause of the Protein? Is having this problem going to Keep me from getting my surgery? If not will the protein go away like my diabetes will? I'M lost, I know I will discuss it with my primary doc on Tuesday, but in the meantime, in-between time I need some advice )-:.

  4. I am new here.... I originally scheduled to do a lapband this month but my physician had called me and wanted to talk to me before the surgery on Nov 15. So I went to see her... And I was so glad that I did it! She wanted me to check out the gastric bypass surgery before I choose what I realy eanted to do. She does not want me to spend twice in a procedure if the lapband will not work! So' date=' i listened to her and canceled the lapband surgery! I am currently meeting with a surgeon for bypass on the 12th.... So we can start the process...[/quote']

I too had my mind set on the Lapland but after the seminar I changed my mind and decided to pursue the RNY. I Did my research as well and found it is more successful than the lapband, and you can loss a substantial amount of weight! I am in the process of getting all my test done and Hope to GET my surgery by early or mid February!! I am so excited and Can't Wait for the new me to emerge out of this old tired shell I have carried around with me for years!! Good luck to you on your journey! There are so many wonderful people on this forum that will Keep you uplifted and supported Before, during and after your journey! So thankful for them!!♥

I found myself heading straight for the aisle that have them and purchasing some for myself! NOOOOO! I THOUGHT IT WOULD NEVER HAPPEN TO ME!! AND THOSE SUCKAS NOT CHEAP EITHER!!!!! I'm praying this changes after surgery as well cuz it's costly!!

  11. MY surgeon told me that I Should start a 1200-1800 calorie of which he did gave me a sample menu and things I can do to lose a few pounds before surgery. He says the weight I lose will help shrink my liver and make it easier to get to where they are going to be doing the procedure. He also said that If I don't lose something that the liver Maybe too hard and they will have to postpone the surgery, because they wouldnt Want to damage the liver. I pray this isn't the case and that I will lose enough weight. I don't have a surgery date yet, I Still have tests to do but I am going to start the diet that he gave me really soon. That will give me a jump start on my weight lose and assurance that my liver will be pliable and will shrink some. Wish me luck guys(-;!!
