It is so easy to stumble

My best advice is to talk to them. Tell them you are having a hard time and you'd appreciate that they remove the junk food or make sure it's away from you. Then start back on the Vitamins and Protein shakes. Focus on that. Once you've been doing that, use this experience to gain some self control. Junk food will be constantly around us and you will be happier if you can go to a birthday party and refuse cake and be totally happy about it then sit around with the feeling "I shouldn't have done that" or "one piece won't hurt". The first couple months I had all junk food out of my house, now it's here but I've gain self control I can sit with my family while they eat cake, Cookies, chips, candy and I'm not even bothered by it. Good luck and I really hope you get back on track!!! HW: 331 SW: 11/26/12 319lbs CW: 229 04/23/13 GW: 157

    Still Dizzy

If they won't help then call your family doctor. I've had to do that before. Explain to them what's going on. If all else fails go to the ER....they have to do something there. HW: 331 SW: 11/26/12 319lbs CW: 229 04/23/13 GW: 157

    Still Dizzy

I would call the doctor if it continues. Have them do blood test for your Vitamins. You can still be low on something even if you're taking them every day like you are suppose to. HW: 331 SW: 11/26/12 319lbs CW: 229 04/23/13 GW: 157

    How long

I'm 5 months out and still do shakes. As for alcohol....most doctors say 6 months. Me personally, I've seen what it can do to a rny patient that wasn't carful and it scared me so I won't touch a drop. HW: 331 SW: 11/26/12 319lbs CW: 229 04/23/13 GW: 157

    I hate the scale

I was a scale freak when I first had my surgery. Now, it comes out 5 times a month. On my anniversary date and on Fridays. I realized the more I obsessed over it the more stressed I got. The weight will come off and stalls are going to happen. I stall every month for 1-2 weeks sometimes 3 weeks at a time. Just remember just cause the scale isn't moving that the inches are not coming off. My best advice is to weigh AND measure yourself once a week. HW: 331 SW: 11/26/12 319lbs CW: 229 04/23/13 GW: 157

    Starving

It sounds like you are experiencing head hunger. I get that a lot when someone around me is eating or I'm seeing food on tv or Facebook. I remind myself that I just ate a hour ago and I am fine. As of feeling full....some people don't and that's why it's very important to measure your food. I still do at 5 months out. I don't have to but I feel better in my mind that I did and I wasn't guessing. I carry Protein bars with me all the time and a packet of shake mix. At least that's something healthy and is what you need. HW: 331 SW: 11/26/12 319lbs CW: 229 04/23/13 GW: 157

    Super scary, HELP

    I feel exactly like that when I am dehydrated. HW: 331 SW: 11/26/12 319lbs CW: 229 04/23/13 GW: 157
  10. When I was looking I was talking to people I knew that had the surgery and the experience. Then when I made the decision on where, I studied the hospital. When I was happy about that then I decided who I wanted for my surgeon. The whole bariatric team. It's more then just a surgeon. The nutritionist, the social worker that worked on the team, the exercise consultant, the support groups and everyone else. They have a great team and they work with you anytime you need them. I'm 5 months out and can still call or email them and i have a response by the end of the day. If its important, I am automatically transferred to a nurse. Also, I was impressed on the rules they had before they'd even consider working with you. HW: 331 SW: 11/26/12 319lbs CW: 229 04/23/13 GW: 157

    Annoyed and frustrated

I actually dealt with the same thing. They kept after me all the way till they were told to leave so I could head back to surgery. I don't know what happened while I was in surgery but they were so much more accepting after then before and also defended me when people would make comments that I was taking the easy way out. Now, is a different story cause the jealousy but oh well. Keep your head high and you are doing this for you and your future. Good luck on the surgery and I pray all will turn out great for you!!!! Drinking too fast?

When I drink milk or my shakes to fast I feel the same way. Feels like I drank a bottle of soda in seconds...just that gassy feeling that you can't get rid of. I lay down when I feel like that. That is the only thing that helps me. Highest Weight: 331 Surgery Date: 11/26/12 319lbs Current Weight: 232 04/13/13 Goal Weight: 157

Too much weight loss too soon?

Try drinking smart Water. That's what I drink when I know I'm dehydrated. It helps me a lot. I was so bad at the beginning I would only be able to stand up for 2-4 minutes before almost passing out. Don't want anyone else to feel like that. It sucks and about landed me back in the hospital. I will be 5 months out on the 26th. Highest Weight: 331 Surgery Date: 11/26/12 319lbs Current Weight: 232 04/13/13 Goal Weight: 157
  14. Was wondering if anyone has any??? Seems like every time I go to the store the prices are rising on these bars and I want to start making my own since I make everything else from scratch. Thanks Highest Weight: 331 Surgery Date: 11/26/12 319lbs Current Weight: 232 04/13/13 Goal Weight: 157

    1st Post Op Period

My doctor wrote me out a prescription for trams-dol cause I would spend the first 2-3 days in bed when my period started cause I hurt so bad, cramps that made me want to die and I slept the whole time. They have gotten better the longer post op I am though. Highest Weight: 331 Surgery Date: 11/26/12 319lbs Current Weight: 232 04/13/13 Goal Weight: 157

    No weight loss

My doctor and nut told me they have a patient that had surgery and didn't loose anything for the first 9 months and then lost a ton of weight after that. He said everyone's body is different and responds in different ways. I'd ask to be sure cause I'd be feeling the same way too. I hope you get good news at your appointment Highest Weight: 331 Surgery Date: 11/26/12 319lbs Current Weight: 232 04/13/13 Goal Weight: 157

    2nd stall?

I too usually stall out a couple weeks out of a month. I'm almost 5 months post op. I've noticed though I will drop inches and usually a size in clothing during that time. The stalls don't bother me anymore. That's when I know I need to buy a new pair of jeans Highest Weight: 331 Surgery Date: 11/26/12 319lbs Current Weight: 232 04/13/13 Goal Weight: 157

    My weightloss has stopped already

Your body is in shock. A lot of people stall between 2-4 weeks out. I did at 2 weeks out and it lasted for 2 weeks. Don't stress about it....just keep doing what you're suppose to do and it will start again. Highest Weight: 331 Surgery Date: 11/26/12 319lbs Current Weight: 232 04/13/13 Goal Weight: 157

    Insanity work out

I tried Insanity for a few days after I was released to go back to normal activities and I found it was a little in extreme for me to start off with. I found Jillian Michael's Body Revolution and I love her program. It starts off to me easy ( hard when I first started it) and gets harder every 2 weeks for 3 months. I've done the whole program and have started over again. I love it. Highest Weight: 331 Surgery Date: 11/26/12 319lbs Current Weight: 232 04/13/13 Goal Weight: 157
