    Not enough calories?

My doctor doesn't want me to count them cause if I don't have enough she doesn't want me to eat junk food to hit the calorie intake. I have counted cause I was curious and I'm lucky if I hit 600 calories a day. As long as I get my Protein in and the liquids then I'm happy. HW: 331 SW: 11/26/12 319lbs CW: 225 05/03/13 GW: 157

    Chest colds..anyone had one?

I had my first cold a month post op and I took Tylenol Cold and Flu. I had no problems with it at all and it actually helped. HW: 331 SW: 11/26/12 319lbs CW: 225 05/03/13 GW: 157
  3. I'm just about 6 months out an I do this every now and then. One food will agree with me one day and next it won't. I'm still playing around with foods to see which ones I'm ok with and which ones are a toss up. That way if I'm out that I know to stay away from it. Fruits seems to be my main food that's always different when I eat it. HW: 331 SW: 11/26/12 319lbs CW: 225 05/03/13 GW: 157

    Getting my gallbladder removed

Sorry to hear that you have to have surgery again. I had my gallbladder out a year and a half before my rny and I had more pain and felt worse then when I had my rny done. But then again everyone is different. Hope yours goes well. Good luck!!! HW: 331 SW: 11/26/12 319lbs CW: 225 05/03/13 GW: 157
  5. As soon as my staples were out (8 days post op). I did have to be carful when I rolled over but I was happy to be back in my bed and sleep. HW: 331 SW: 11/26/12 319lbs CW: 225 05/03/13 GW: 157

    Working It Out

My doctor didn't want me doing any weight for 6 weeks. Just walking. He wanted me to be healed so nothing would happen. But ask your doctors as everyone's plan is different. HW: 331 SW: 11/26/12 319lbs CW: 225 05/03/13 GW: 157

    Bathing and swimming

I was told once my incisions were 100% healed. You don't want to run a risk of infection. HW: 331 SW: 11/26/12 319lbs CW: 225 05/03/13 GW: 157

    Vitamin Schedule

I'm the same way. I have a app on my phone called RxmindMe. I have a iPhone so may be different on other phones. But I love it and its set to go off when it's time to take my meds. It's been a HUGE help reminding me. HW: 331 SW: 11/26/12 319lbs CW: 225 05/03/13 GW: 157

    i cant stop eating

Mamiof3kids and bbdoodle are exactly right with everything they've said. The more control you get now the better you will be. It's going to be hard but it's worth it. When I was pre op, I printed pictures of myself and put them all around my house. One in my car and one in my wallet. I was seeing myself as I was and I hated it. Made me do what I needed to get into the mindset I needed. I had 12 days from the time my surgery was approved to the day I had surgery and Thanksgiving was 4 days prior to my surgery. While everyone was having a huge Thanksgiving feast...I was having a 1/2 c of applesauce and a cheese stick. I had 3 Thanksgiving and did that all 3 times. That will give you some will power!!!! Carry Protein mixes with you, Protein Bars, low calorie Snacks, nuts, Jerky....this will all help. Start to measure your food, chew 30-40 times, don't drink while you eat and your recommended minutes before and after, and exercise as much as you can. If you get used to this now and keep at it no matter what, this will be so much easier on you. Make time to exercise....put it in your schedule and stick with it. I wish each of you good luck with your surgeries and your pre op diets. This will not be easy but the more you prepare yourself the better it will be. One last piece of advice....read the posts in the post op section. You will learn a lot from real people and their experiences. I wish I would have. Constantly feeling cold

I wouldn't have thought that it being 90degrees outside....76 in my house that I would still be cold!!!! Last year I would have been dying and had the AC on full blast. I can get used to this and enjoy my summer. Maybe get a tan too!!! Lol. HW: 331 SW: 11/26/12 319lbs CW: 225 05/03/13 GW: 157

    My husband feels threatened...

    My husband feels threatened...

My husband felt the same way for the first few months. After reassuring him I wasn't leaving things have gotten better. Took him awhile and he is now even trying to get healthier. I just keep telling him that I love him for him and he loved me for who I was and who I am now....why would I leave him for someone that wouldn't have given me a second look 6 months ago. HW: 331 SW: 11/26/12 319lbs CW: 225 05/03/13 GW: 157
  13. I'm 5 months out and still have issues. Stool softeners every other day is how I'm dealing with it. If not it could be weeks. HW: 331 SW: 11/26/12 319lbs CW: 225 05/03/13 GW: 157
  14. You should schedule an appointment with your nut and go over everything again. This can be all confusing and a lot to take in when you discuss this all at first. Everyone's program is different. Mine says I need to measure out my food and then eat between 20-30 minutes. If I don't eat it all then oh well and if I do that's great. Keep going over and over all your information you got from your nut and keep going over it. It helps. Ask questions if their is something you don't understand. Today is a new day and it will get much better!!! HW: 331 SW: 11/26/12 319lbs CW: 225 05/03/13 GW: 157
  15. I'm not even suppose to have regular bread till I'm at least 6 months out. I can have toast but that's as far as they want me to go. They said bread can get stuck unless you eat tiny tiny bites at a time and chew the heck out of it. HW: 331 SW: 11/26/12 319lbs CW: 225 05/03/13 GW: 157
  16. I am the same way. If something doesn't agree with me or if I forget and don't chew my food I feel like crap and I make myself throw up. I've only done it a handful of times in 5 months but its instant relief. HW: 331 SW: 11/26/12 319lbs CW: 225 05/03/13 GW: 157

    Depression?

Congrats on your weight loss!!! You're doing really well. Sorry to hear that you are having a bad day. It does get better. I'm 5 months out and still have my days. Your hormones are all over the place and you will be up and down for awhile. Just keep sipping and get whatever Protein you can in and just keep working at it. Some protein is better then none at all. I still don't get my recommended amount but I keep trying every day. Keep your was up and it will all work out HW: 331 SW: 11/26/12 319lbs CW: 225 05/03/13 GW: 157

    Question on Salads

I was the same way. But at a week out I was on soft foods cause I was having issues with puréed foods (the thought of puréed food make me really sick. Was all mental. Lol.) I was told to chew chew chew and I'd be fine and I was. HW: 331 SW: 11/26/12 319lbs CW: 225 05/03/13 GW: 157

    new attitude

I have a lot more confidence. I don't let people treat me like crap anymore and get away with it. I stick up for myself. I've lost a couple friends and a few family members won't speak to me anymore but I am ok with that. HW: 331 SW: 11/26/12 319lbs CW: 225 05/03/13 GW: 157

    Tattoo's and Weight Loss

My tattoos are looking good. I think they even look better with my legs getting smaller. My only regret is not getting my other foot done before surgery. My feet are boney now and I think it actually will hurt a little when I get it done. Lol. HW: 331 SW: 11/26/12 319lbs CW: 225 05/03/13 GW: 157

    Constantly feeling cold

I was like that for a month or two after surgery. Now I am cold all the time. It's weird getting used to it but I can't wait for the summer. Hopefully I can tolerate the heat and enjoy it. HW: 331 SW: 11/26/12 319lbs CW: 225 05/03/13 GW: 157
