    Lost Friendships

I hate to say this but if she isn't supportive and a real friend, cut ties with her. I had to with a couple friends and even my own sister. It was so hard but I am better off without their rude comments and smart remarks. I even tried to try to mend things with my sister since I found out that I am pregnant but the only thing she seems happy about is that I will gain weight and she even made the comment "you had surgery just to get fat again." Comment hurt but all I keep saying is Karma is a b$!% # HW:331 SW:319 11-26-12 CW: 196 8-16-13 GW:170

    Jewelry Removal

I had to remove all my piercings before I went into surgery but I had my husband put them back in as soon as I got to my room. If he couldnt do it my mom was going to. I was so out of it I didn't even know he did until the next day but he did as I asked. I would ask your surgeon the next time you see him on what their policies are for piercings during surgery. 3. That sounded like my husband after all my appointments. Then he was lost after my surgery as to how to help or what I should and shouldnt do etc. Well needless to say I threw the book at him I got at class and told him to enjoy. He's been a lot more understanding and involved since. We had issues after the surgery and have worked through them but its very important to communicate during this process. Plus you have lots of people here that will offer advice and help throughout the whole thing. HW:331 SW:319 11-26-12 CW: 196 8-16-13 GW:170
  4. I had to be smoke free for 6 months and they tested me the week before and the day of surgery. If I showed any signs I had smoked they would have canceled my surgery. Plus I felt much better after surgery not smoking then I had my previous surgeries when I smoked. My stress was insane before surgery and so was my blood pressure. They had to give me medicine to lower it before I went I to surgery. I've been smoke free for a year and enjoy every minute of it. I had this surgery to become healthy....well to me that is in very aspect. HW:331 SW:319 11-26-12 CW: 196 8-16-13 GW:170

    Had Gastric Bypass yesterday 8/20

I got so dehyrated I couldnt stand for more then 30 seconds before almost passing out. It only took 6 days post op to get to that point. Almost got put back in the hospital but after promising them I will start drinking they let me go home. It took me about a month to fully recover from that. It's scary so please sip sip sip. Had Gastric Bypass yesterday 8/20

I felt great the day after my surgery and I would have stayed that way but I was an idiot and quit drinking fluids and didn't drink my shakes cause everything tasted so bad I didn't want anything. Big mistake!!! Remember to sip, walk and rest and you will do great. Congrats and good luck!!! HW:331 SW:319 11-26-12 CW: 196 8-16-13 GW:170

one year post op and 15wks pregnant!

I have a question. Did anything help with extremely bad nausea? I am sick 24/7 and now getting to the point I'm hardly able to keep food in me at all. Im trying to get myself hydrated again and dealing with low blood pressure and I sleep all the time. Has anyone else dealt with this and is there any help??? Everyone thinks I'm crazy that I'm feeling this bad at 8 weeks but I am. HW:331 SW:319 11-26-12 CW: 196 8-16-13 GW:170

    Nausea

I would give your surgeon a call and see what they say. Trust me, you need to stay hydrated or it will lead to other issues and they are not fun to deal with. HW:331 SW:319 11-26-12 CW: 199 8-6-13 GW:170

8 months post op and pregnant

Its been awhile and just wanted to say hi to all us rny soon to be mommies!!!! Had my first appointment today after a scare of spotting and other things. Saw the baby and heard the heartbeat. Im so relieved I cried. Lol. Due date is April 2, 2014. I can't wait and its hard to believe I've known for 3 weeks already. Time is flying by. Havent gained any weight but have lost a few more pounds. Eating like I'm suppose to be. Took awhile to get used to that. Lol. I'd love for us all to keep in touch HW:331 SW:319 11-26-12 CW: 199 8-6-13 GW:170
  12. So last night and today I got positive pregnancy results. My question is....what in the world do I do now?? I'm going to the doctor today for a pregnancy test.....do I need to call my surgeon too? I'd love any help on this. I'm extreamly happy cause this was one of my main reasons of having this surgery but freaking out big time!!!!!
  13. I was also told nothing but walking till around 6-8 weeks or whenever your doctor clears you. They told me to walk as much as I could but when I get tired to quit and rest and I was to do that as often as I could. HW:331 SW:319 11-26-12 CW: 199 8-6-13 GW:170

    Post-op Physical Restrictions

I would have drove to my 1 week appointment but I was so dehydrated I couldn't stand for more than a minute without wanting to faint so hubby drove me. Just need to be off your pain meds and feel comfortable. My family lives over 2 hours away from me and I was visiting them within 2 weeks. I didn't drive cause I was still very weak from dehydration but was able to tolerate the trip in the winter fairly well. I had sex about a week and a half after surgery. Those damn staples had to come out first. I was doing cleaning around my house 4 days after surgery. I had a weight restriction so my husband would bring anything downstairs or upstairs so I wouldnt have to worry about it. Everyones body is different and their healing process. Start off doing small things and work your way up. Follow your doctors orders and dont be afraid to ask for help. Stop and rest often and you should be ok. Full feeling HELP!

Try only eating for 20-30 minutes. Most plans say that. Eat what you can in that amount of time and thats all. Eating for an hour is to much. Follow YOUR plan and you will be fine. Keep rereading what they recommend. It helps. Hope you feel better. HW:331 SW:319 11-26-12 CW: 199 8-6-13 GW:170

    Depression ?

Its very common to have your first stall this early. My first one was at 2 weeks post op and lasted a month. Your body is just wondering what you did to it and will try to hold onto what it can. Follow your plan and it will all work out. HW:331 SW:319 11-26-12 CW: 199 8-6-13 GW:170

  18. Mine came out the day I went home. Didn't hurt but its the weirdest feeling. Thought that thing was wrapped around every organ in my body. She kept telling me to breathe and it was over in seconds. HW:331 SW:319 11-26-12 CW: 199 8-6-13 GW:170

Why did you choose RNY instead of sleeve?

My surgeon wanted me to keep an open mind on the different surgeries cause I was set on the rny. The sleeve is very popular here so he suggested that. After hearing my reason he said rny would be best for me. I wanted my diabetes gone, high blood pressure gone and I wanted to be able to have a family. Also, I didnt want to go through what my dad with with his heart attack and stroke. Today, 8 months out I have no more signs of diabetes, blood pressure is no longer high but kinda low now and I got my all time wish of being able to have a family

    Pcos, periods

I have pcos and I started my period 5 days after surgery and they were consistant every month afterwards. The first couple weren't to bad but months 3-5 post op and I wanted someone to kill me when my period started. The cramps were horrible I got pain meds from the doctor for them. The clotting and the bleeding was horrible I'm amazed how we can live through that. It does get better. After that fifth month I just got regular cramps and a normal period. I was also infertile before surgery and am now 6 weeks pregnant. Its a miracle and couldn't be happier.

8 months post op and pregnant

Thanks for your replies. Its helping so much. I just don't want to get off track. Being able to get pregnant was one of the main reasons why I had the surgery. Just didn't expect the fear of gaining weight with pregnancy. If my surgeon says that I will be absolutely fine if I follow my program then I need to suck it up and enjoy this

8 months post op and pregnant

Saw my surgeon today. He isn't worried at all and is very happy with my progress. I have to take 2 prenatal vitamins a day now instead of one and I need to start eating more since I only eat 2 small meals a day. He wants me to do 3 with 2 snacks. I'm just so scared of gaining weight!!!
