  1. My parents are suddenly antiRNY. After a year of preparing for RNY they are now' date=' with only two days to surgery all "Why don't you get the sleeve, less complications with the sleeve, are you sure you want to have surgery, You won't be able to eat that little, you're too young, huge lifestyle change, you won't be able to handle it, So and so had RNY and nearly died, So and so had the sleeve and they lost (blank) weight."

And I'm like WHY NOW? OVER A YEAR AND NOW YOU'RE VOICING ALL OF THIS NOW! WTF???

I snapped tonight and I say "I'm doing this, it's my decision. If you were this concerned, why didn't you voice this a year ago when I started this whole thing and told you the options. This surgery is my choice and I've made my decision, and I'd like you to support that. End of story."

Of course, we all have parents and know it wasn't the end of story. They are still trying to sway me, But I'm standing firm.

Thank you for ready my little rant.[/quote']

I certainly understand your fustrations, I put the Atlantic ocean between me and my mother 8 years ago. Our relationship is much better now. You are your own person, you need to do whats best for you.

  2. Stalls are common and expected. I am 7+ months post op and go thru weeks long stalls then hit a loosing period where I drop for a couple weeks then back to a stall. My Dr. Says its a way for the body to not be shocked by loosing too much weight at once. Ie... When I first started loosing and droped 15 lbs in 2 weeks it was less 4% of my body weight, not too much of a shock. Now if i were to lose 15 lbs in 2 weeks it would be 8% percent of my body weight, way too much of a shock to the body. Hope that helps.

  3. Sounds like your off to a fantastic start, with a great support system. Welcome to an ever changing life that gets eaiser and eaiser to live without all the extra weight and ailments that go with it. Also welcome to the board, I dont post as much as some but I read everything and its a great help and inspiration to me.

  4. I started slow walking the day after surgery, I was home. After a month I i started doing crunches and legs lifts and have built up to 500 a day of each. I get a 6 mile walk in almost every day and on the days when i'm pressed for time i still get two 1 mile walks in with the dog. Ive been working with kettle bells for 5 months now 7 days a week and love it. I dont go to a gym but there are tons of good instructional videos online line. Now that the weather is starting to break Im going to try taking my bike into the train station to go to work instead of the bus. Its about 7 miles with two big hills so Im going to do some practice rides first before I try to make it for the 615 am train.

  5. I can't wait to pull that drivers seat up a bit and my tummy not come close to the steering wheel. I finally bought my pretty little Mustang. Now I can't wait to fit into it like I should! :)

I know what you mean. I've been driving big cars and suv's for 30 years because thats what I fit in. This past week I traded in my big v70 volvo wagon and got me a bmw M3 that I've always wanted but could never fit in. Cant wait to hit the autobaun in Germany this summer.

  6. What is the 5 week program? We have nothing like that here. Aslo if you have to wait so long dont they have to make it available to you another way, like sending you to a different region or country. Thats what i did. It would be over a year in hallands lån to have it so i had the option to go to skåne lån to have it. That the nice part ofnational health care.

  7. Well on a lark today I got a pair on jeans out my wife bought for me a couple months ago and tried them on, size 36, and by god they fit, really well. I have no memory of being in a 30something pant since my childhood. Guess im going to edit out all the loose fitting 40's now. Happy Easter everyone.

  8. Having my gall bladder out was much more crappy the gbs. GBS on monday home tuesday. Gall bladder, abeiet as an emergency, on sunday and home friday, and i was way more sore than i was with gbs. My gbs was 3 years after gall bladder removal. However when my sister had her gall bladder out it was planned, in and out of the hospitol on the same day. Now that I think of it im not sure if this post helps answer your question or not.

  9. Whats the waiting time in Island? I spent about 3 months waiting between approval and surgery but that was mainly because of the summer shutdown from midsommar to august 20 we expierence in Sweden. I had my surgery in kirstenstad and funny thing was my Dr is from Island. We had to do everything in english since i couldnt understand his swedish and he couldnt understand my swedish.

  10. It's crazy cause I am 180 at this moment n ppl is telling me to stop loosing weight cause I look to skinny n I don't agree I have 20 more pounds to go its hard but I know I can do it

I get where your comming from, I'm 7 mths out from when i started my liqued diet and

almost 6 mths from surgery and down 137lbs and in the last couple weeks a lot of people are saying " 50 more lbs? No you'll be too thin". Well 50 more lbs will put me at 170. For my 5 11 frame I'm going to go there and if I am not confortable with it I'll change it. Keep the control you have now and lose what you feel is right for you. I know I am
