This has absolutely no bearing to be in this weight loss website. This is not a place for political conversation or religion

As a Respiratory Therapist I can tell you that sleep apnea puts incredible stress on your heart. Not wearing your cpap is no different that not following other Physicians orders. You are only harming yourself which show immaturity and irresponsibility for doing the beat you can before and after surgery. Just like blood pressure medication, exercise, getting enough protein: just do it!

I am 56 and had RNY on November 27 after a slipped lap band. Had the band for 8 years
-
I had a ban for 8 years and lost 75 lbs but was never able to get below 200. My bad slipped, I had it removed at the end of Oct and had a gastric bypass in the end of Nov. best decision, I am now less than 200. The weight loss is much slower since I had already lost 75 and kept it off for 8 years. I am very happy with my decision and so happy I am not throwing up or refluxing any more

Well as a respiratory therapist who has sleep apnea I also was shocked to find out I had sleep apnea. You get used to that run down feeling but you won't realize how bad it is until you get a few good nights sleep with a cpap machine. Not everyone who has sleep apnea snores. Some people just stop breathing (due to obstruction of the upper airway), you oxygen level drops and you wake up never getting into a good rem sleep. I didn't realize how bad I felt until I got a few nights if good sleep.

Anyone who tells you don't worry about is has NO medical knowledge and does not understand the side effects of sleep apnea. It takes awhile to get used to the machine but your heart and lungs will thank you. How do I know, well I still have sleep apnea after 90lb weight loss (30 more to go) and I still wear my cpap machine.

I'm a Respiratory Therapist and I can tell you that sleep apnea has a significant effect on your heart. You decrease the oxygen supply to your brain when you stop breathing during the night. Once you get near your goal you can have another sleep study and get rid if the cpap machine. This is about improving your health and is important. Sleep apnea is nothing to be lax about. Trust me in this one

It is a HIPPA violation for HR to tell your supervisor what kind of surgery you are having. HR will tell her you are on medical leave and when you plan to return to work. That is it

Can you send it to francesmcg@comcast.net as well. Thanks

That is correct. It is a HIPPA violation and none of your company's business you just need a note from your Dr or show tour prescription bottle You must be paid for the time they sent you home

Some centers have more patients than they can handle. I found that with the first practice I went to with my lapband. It was crazy hard to get a fill or unfill because there were only 2 surgeons and you had to have the surgeon who did your surgery do it unless it was an emergency. So I had started the process with them for the RNY and after being left hung out to dry to find a therapist on my own. NO lists of therapists they recommend nuttin! The next center was quick' date=' had all my appointments for me and bingo done. The only snafu was my PCP's letter and her going on vacation so I couldn't get one.
It is confusing what you're going through. Does your group have a list of visits and tests you can check off as you complete them or schedule them? Mine had that and they added all the dates of my appointments to it.[/quote']
It sounds lime you had a lap band and then an RNY. I have had a slip after 8 years and am switching to RNY. Can you tell me how that went and are you glad to changed to te RNY
-
Can anyone tell me how well they did after replacement of lap band with RNY. I have had my band for 8 years. Lost about 60 lbs but need to lose about 60 more. . It has slipped and needs to be removed. I am having an RNY at that time it is removed. How was it different than the band. Thanks for your help. This is my first time posting.

Because religious people feel it is their duty to force the rest of us to believe what they believe. It's pathetic
