I'm not going to read anymore post on this. I got through five pages and couldn't stop laughing. I got denied back in June because my insurance requires 2 years of bmi 40 or higher. I did see a different doctor one of those 2 years and thank God it helped me meet my requirements. I know this is known of my business but I think the guy that was upset about seeking approval for surgery if you don't qualify because of bmI, I believe was a tad bit misunderstood. If he had of stuck to his original reason I don't think it would have went that far. I believe he was upset that she wore extra stuff to get over the hump which is fibbing a little. The nurse that called me to set up my pre op class and lab work ask me do I want the Pneumonia vaccine on my pre op date and if I wanted the flu shot after surgery in the hospital. So I would guess it is ok. Sent from my SGH-T989 using RNYTalk

My surgery is the 15th as well. I'm so glad there is more having it this day. My pre op is Monday. I was told I was having a ultrasound on my gall bladder, EKG, blood work xray and a class. I was told I will be there from 8 to 3:00. I'm still trying to figure out if I will be in a liquid diet. Oh I had a EDG Thursday to check my esophagus, stomach and small intestine. You are so right about that. My mother keeps bringing up people that had the surgery and wasn't successful at losing or keeping the weight off. I guess she is not being evil, lol. I know there is a support group so I think I'll call my nutritionist and find out the days and times. My manger at work has been great support. She had the lap band 5 years ago and looks great. I never looked at it as if they are scared. My mom said some mean things a few weeks ago, when I asked for Thanksgiving dinner in October. Maybe she said it to discourage me from having the surgery. I will have to remind myself they have some fears too. Sent from my SGH-T989 using RNYTalk

Hi everyone! I'm new here, but I have been looking through singe of the threads here. I'm scheduled to have the RNY on Oct 1. Trying to get that date changed for personal reasons. I'm so nervous right now. My health insurance denied me the first time and I won my appeal. Any info you would like to share is welcome.

Hi I'm new here. I'm scheduled to have my surgery Oct 1, but want to reschedule for Oct 15 for personal reasons. My surgeon will be David Schumacher with Sycamore hospital. He also performs at Kettering hospital as well, both in Ohio. I have heard nothing but good things about him.
