  1. My insurance told be that as long as my bmi is above 40 at the time my first weigh in was and that I have documented history that it was over the last two years that was good. I asked about when I started my 6 month diet and if it went below 40. They said that was okay because they want you to try to continue to lose weight and if you didn't lose weight or gained it mainly that there could be a problem and you may not be as committed to this. They want to see you lose weight and succeeded. Because you will have to do this after the surgery.

Stephanie that was exactly what my requirements were. They wanted me to lose to show I was dedicated. They did take into consideration that I quit smoking asst the same time I was pursuing this.

  2. Im in the same situation as you both. Im 3 weeks out from surgery and have lost 10 #'s. The scales have not moved since the first post op visit. I started at the gym last night and hope that will give me a boost.

I DO feel the difference in the fit of my pants and bra though- so it seems something is going on.

Patience we will have to be.It helps knowing we are not alone in the journey.

Yes I'm glad I'm not alone. I'm going to try on some pants and see if I notice a difference. I've been wearing sweats since surgery.

  3. Shonabear' date=' I am in the same boat this week. I told myself this morning, no scale for a couple days..... It's very irritating. But it is truly amazing how much I am turned away from so many foods now. I am however craving Chinese food. Lol......we will get there...[/quote']

My craving was pizza lol. Yeah I'm putting the scale away for a couple of days too.

  4. first of all at this stage of the game and I guess for the rest of your journey patience is key. At 3 weeks your body is still adjusting to what it has been dealt. It is very likely you are in starvation mode where your body is going to hold onto its fat for dear life. Also how much Protein are you getting in... max amounts will show greater weight loss. Also are you drinking your Water and getting your Vitamins and exercising. If you follow protocol the weight will come off you just have to have patience.

I'm getting 60 plus Protein in and all my fluids. I am also taking my Vitamins and even working out. Your probably right about my body being in starvation mode.

  5. Sorry guys but I was wondering how often did you "dispense waste" daily during the first Weeks after surgery?? I know I'm in deep but I'm a bit concerned because I'm not at my regular yet though my surgery was 10/30... Any help please!!!

Mine is every other day just about. It took me almost a week to have my first one after surgery and I was on full liquids at the time.
