Ladies and gentlemen....friends I have made and friends I have yet to meet, I want to that you all for this site and the sharing of your experiences. I'm not nervous...merely excited to get it over with.
As of Thursday I was down a total of 37 pounds preop. And that's without any exercise...due to my bad ankle.
If anyone else is near Allentown, PA and using Lehigh Valley or Dr. Harrison please get in touch with me.
I wish you all the beat of success.

Well gang...it's official. My RNY is scheduled for February 22nd at Lehigh Valley Hospital and Dr. Harrison will be performing the procedure.
I'm excited...can't wait this long. I've worked hard so far and will continue doing the same. So far I am down 37 pounds.
If there is anyone else in my area with a date close to mine I'd love to hear from you.

Anyone else out there have sleep apnea and sleep with a cpap machine?
How long did it take you to lose enough weight to ditch the breathing machine?

Thanks Jane.

Sire did Shasta...messed up my ankle BIG time. Ie already had 2 surgeries on it. After my RNY I will be eating a 3rd and possibly an ankle replacement down the road.
Yes....still hobbling around on Crutchers. Sexy isn't it???? HaHaHa

Oh no Shasta....the job loss was because of an injury. Been off since March of 2010.
Sorry for the confusion.

After the huge amount of success I've had I need to "let my hair down" and eat some bad foods.
Turns out yesterday I tested positive for smoking...I knew hanging with the boys the night before was a bad idea. So I'm trading in my friends for a few months while I complete the last class and Dr. Appointment where I get my surgery date.
Bring on some junk foods...but Monday morning I am back to my strict regimented lifestyle I am committed to.
Anyone close to PA with an exercise bike they no longer want? Money is tight right now due to my work injury...but I'd be willing to pay what ever I could. Since I can't walk without crutches I thought an exercise bike might help.
Anyone???

Well gang here I am...in the waiting room before group session. December 13th I see the surgeon and December 21st is my last class. This time can't come soon enough.
I'm so looking forward to joining the POUCH club. Bring on my RNY!!!
Down about 35 pounds since the start of my journey.
Wish me well.
You guys and gals have been an AMAZING extended support system. Not just for me, but also my spouse.
We are both very grateful.
Peace, Love and Lighter Weights.

Taking the FIRST step is the hardest!!!
You have now found an amazing support system with people who will rapidly become your "friends"...and NEVER judge.
WE are all in this together. I wish you MUCH success and if I can ever be of assistance please do not hesitate to ask.

I've got to ask...are all of you successful weight loss patients cold?
It seems like as I am whopping my pre-op weight I'm requiring more and more clothes.
Is this normal???

I do have one silly thing in the back of my mind about losing all this weight. Currently I carry a compact size concealed weapon...will I need to decrease to a sub-compact in order to properly carry it inside my waist band?
It may sound unusual, but I never leave home without my sidearm.

Thanks #7.

Well friends...wish me luck. Tomorrow is my first official weigh in since I took on a new healthier eating style. Lets see if the scale shows if my efforts were worthwhile.
The wife and I have been regulars at the monthly meetings. Last night was a cooking demonstration. First time I was able to tolerate yogurt...it was unsweetened Greek, but still counts in my book.
And I'm MOST happy to admit that since she is now eating WITH me we have successfully been able to control her blood sugars!!!!!
I'm so proud of her...you can't put that kind of happiness into proper words.
And she too is slowly losing some weight. All in all this will turn out to be the best decision we have ever made together.
Love you all...stay healthy my friends,
Jeff

Thank You both VERY much!!!!

OK...how do you all deal with that one or two people who question your decision to have RNY?
I know how I want to respond, but there must be a more tactful way of handling it.
So far I have been overwhelmed by the support of friends and family.
The new me is gonna be awesome.
