  1. My insurance will only cover this if you have a BMI if 50 or more

  4. Becky I hope your sugar issues get better. Luckily I don't have to worry about mine. Diabetes runs in mu family which was another reason I chose to have surgery.

  6. I kind of knew I would have gained weight since last months weigh in due to me quitting smoking 3 weeks ago....gained 7 lbs. But they did say because I just ate and it was a evening appointment and water retention can be part of those lbs. They scheduled my last 2 appointments for September and October so looks like surgery may be in November
  7. Becky this month has been the hardest on me I quit smoking 24 days ago and I want to eat everything in site. Also the week before my period all I want to do is eat. I am scared to see what the scales say tomorrow when I go for my weigh in

  10. Crstal I am 43 mother of 3 and grandbaby girl that will be 3 in December. She has a lot to do with my decision. Knowing I am too young to not be able to chase and play with her.

  12. Well my insurance requires a 7 month supervised weight loss program. Tomorrow makes my 5th appointment. So far the dietician put me on a 1500 calorie diet and had me start with a multi vitamin. The test that are required are different depending on the surgeon. Mine requires an EKG, a pulmonary function test, and endoscopy. And in October I have a psych evaluation. I an 5'8" and weigh 274.4 as of last appt. He wants me to lose 10 more pounds. Started out weighing 285-287. BM I is 41.5
  13. Welcome!!! I am new here too. I still have a couple of months to go before getting a surgery date but its good to have a support group and a place to vent before and after the process

  15. Yes it seems the closer I get I feel further away LOL.
  16. Well my pcp did the ekg in his office plus the blood work in April and had the pulmonary function test scheduled for me a couple days after that. In June my surgeon did the endoscopy. I have to wait till October for the pysch evaluation because she is so booked up I had to make it like 3 months in advance

  18. April was my 1st month of 7 required by my insurance company. I have completed all tests except the pysch evaluation which they have scheduled for October 3rd. I am hoping it doesn't take too long after that. I guess end of October or beginning of November. I am going to try and find out more tomorrow at my monthly appt
  19. Congrats on your approval. I can't wait to get it but I still have a ways to go. These last couple months sees to be taking forever
  20. Just reading you saying your "wow " moment somehow really motivates me and makes me smile. It is a slow process and tomorrow makes my 5th month of 7 insurance required weigh in.
  21. I quit 3 weeks ago. I am using the electronic cigs and it is helping a lot. I am with you that the want is still there but I know my surgery is more important to me and that helps to motivated me
