So today was the first day to start back on my regular pills. So I crushed them and mixed with applesauce as instructed and it was terrible. I only was able to take half of the amount bc it was so bad and it felt like I was gonna vomit it all up again. I even wen as far as putting my hair up in a pony tail quickly. Lol. Any suggestions on crushing ur pills an taking them with something different that will mask ye flavor of the crushed. Pudding maybe? I'm on full liquid diet for 2 weeks.

May I ask you how you got that weight tracker that shows your goal pounds lost and where your at now with it??

Good luck to you all tomorrow. Don't be scared you will be fine. I'm 2 days post op and I woke up after surgery feeling like I didn't even have it. I do have to say after anesthesia wore off the gas pains came.

I suppose to have 4 med cups of clear liquid and 2 med cups of protein shake every hour. I can't do it, it's too much. I'm really trying. I'm only 2 days post op. any suggestions. I'm trying to walk as much as I can too. This gas pain is terrible that I have to take the pain meds every 4 hrs for some relief. I also take chewable gas x too, but u can only take so many a day. I need this gas gone!

I'm home from hospt. Had surg on Tuesday. Did clear liquids ( 60cc's every hour) all day. Today I started full liquid diet for 2 weeks til my post op. I'm to get 120 cc's every hour and increase as tolerated a little at a time. I haven't had a BM but I did pass gas once. The gas pains are still a big issue it hurts really bad but no nausea so far thank god. I came off the more phone yest bc it wasn't helpings and started the loratab and thy seems to help but it tastes nasty so I have to take a drink after that. All in all it's going good. I did gain 14 pounds in the hosp bc of all the gas they filled me up with and the amount of fluids I got. I did have to get more fluids than normal bc my urine didn't look good and my kidney function levels started to increase. I'm happy to be here. I wish the best for everyone.

Good luck to everyone in the next couple of days. I do have to say the gas pain is rough, hang in there, walk and ice chips. I was walking the floor ( pretty large hospital and floor too) 7 hrs after surgery. I also was extremely nervous about this and feeling like I was making the wrong decision. To be honest I was suppose to have it last month but I chickened out big time and canceled it. Once I was in the right state of mind again I remembered why I wanted this. So I had to call the dr again an ask him to reschedule the surgery. I am not quite a full day post op.

I still have pain I'm left side and throat. Haven't gotten any rest yet. Still on ice chips. Hope everyone else is well.

Well I head to the hospital in 6 hours. I'm attempting to sleep a little before hand. Lol. I only lost 14 lbs on 2 week liquid pre op but that's better than nothing. Wish me luck. Prayers out to my re birth crew. I will attempt to post pics. Not sure how tho.

Sry I haven't been around Ina while. Busy at work the last week now I'm laid off. Trying to prepare myself for surgery on Tuesday. Been on liquids for a little over a week and have a week to go. It sux. I'm nervous excited and scarred all at the same time. I hope u have everything I need. Wish u all the best of luck.

Do do I call bariatric advantage and ask them to sentence the dorm for my dr to fill out and send back so I get 3 months free? Is that a special program? How did I hear about that? My dr sells that stuff in his office.

I think the best advice us as nurses can do is just refer you to your doctor. I know, I hate calling the dr myself for every little thing. People are so different and how they react to anything. Something as simple as diarrhea for one person, may be serious for another person. So on and so forth. If I can't physically see and assess the person, I have to refer them to their dr just bc I would rather be safe than sorry. Everyone has different medical problems etc. I really hope you get to feeling better. We all I think should keep a little journal do a while. What we ate, how we feel at certain times etc. see if there Is a pattern there. Take that journal to the dr with us. I know it could be a pain in the butt, but I think it could help us especially if we are experiencing and adverse reaction or something. Just a thought.

Can't we get a card or something to keep with us stating we had WLS and allow us to order from kid menu. We just show that cars at the restaurant??
