  1. I'm an elementary teacher and i went back after 2 weeks off.
  2. Can you cut them in half or quarters? I had my pharmacist give me more small pills instead of a bigger one to equal the same dosage.
  3. Thanks. I had actually emailed his nurse already but didn't expect a reply til tomorrow. She emailed me back and said it was ok for me to take the chewable Pepcid twice a day instead of just once.
  4. I am 13 days post-op and it is the second day i've had heartburn. Anybody else have this?
  5. At my 1 week post-op i asked my dr if i should be able to drink a whole 10oz protein shake and he said yes because it doesn't stay in your pouch, it moves through (which is why it's important to sip...not gulp). I remember my pre-op appt with my nutritionist and she emphasized "bulking up" yogurt later on bcuz yogurt would pass thru your pouch too.
  6. I found mixing Isopure alpine punch with Crystal Light fruit punch, grape with grape, pineapple/orange with orange sunrise. That's the only way i could get it down. I like the GNC chocolate/pb mix but i think mixing it in the blender makes it too airy (makes my belly hurt). The cans of Pure Protein are pretty good, 35grams of protein per can.
  7. I am on the last day of the clear liquid phase post-op. I'm going to tell you, i've tried just about all the "top" protein powders/drinks except Unjury. And i can tolerate Isopure (i like fruit punch best, mixed with some crystal light). The rest taste terrible! I am so ready for "full" liquids tomorrow!
  8. I was under the impression 1 bottle was enough, then someone said to take a 2nd bottle 4 hrs later...advice?
  9. My name is Nikki. I live in Wyoming. My date is Nov. 5th!
  10. Hi! I am new to the site. My doctor and the psychologist that did my evaluation strongly suggested i join some sort of support group. So...here i am. I've been reading a lot of posts and everyone seems to be positive and supportive of one another. About me, I am 31 years old, 5'1" and weigh 270. I have struggled with my weight my whole life and like many people, i've tried just about every diet out there. When i first contacted the surgeon's office the office manager was very helpful but realistic with me. The insurance i have DOES cover WLS but it is difficult to get approved. With her help i jumped through all the hoops and got approved. My surgery is this Monday, November 5th! I am so excited i can barely stand it. I am a 3rd grade teacher so i am on my feet and active all day. By the time i get home i am sore and exhausted. I can't wait to feel better and have energy. I am encouraged by the success i see on here...can't wait to shop for clothes and not have to go to a special store. :-)
