I have had the same pain since my surgery 6/21/07. For me it IS painful. I can ignore it during the day, but at night it really bothers me. I'm too soon for a fill, so if you find anything out, PLEASE let me know.

Really do get the Thyroid checked. I have hypo thyroid and it can REALLY affect your weight loss/gain, Hair loss, nails, sleeplessness, fatigue, etc. But, with medication it can be easily cared for.

Lap band surgery Tijuana, Mexico|$6,800 Surgery|Surgeons Inamed Certificate|Financing|Gastric Sleeve
I had mine here and my buddy and her workmate did too. They are very nice and you're in your own room. They even drove me around to shop for gifts to bring home the day after.

Tulips,
EFinancing Solutions has a program that if you pay the amount in full within the 12 months after your surgery the interest is taken out of the total amount and you don't have to pay it. I think this is their number 800-728-9585 Robin Hastings was my loan officer and answered all the questions I had.
Kland,
Thanks sooo much for the support. I have not found a local doctor yet. I'm on new antibiotics now and they do seem to be helping. I appreciate your thoughts. I've not really told anyone here. So, I'm on my own.

My buddy just had hers done in Tj Mex too, but she lives in Marietta and works in Buckhead. The only fill Dr she could find ended up being in Alpharetta. She's going for her first fill tomorrow. I don't know his name, but I can ask if you would like me to?

I was banded 6/21/07 in Tj Mexico. I am worried about finding a Dr who will do a fill for me. Anyone know of a Dr in the Palm Beach area? I imagine I will need one next month? When is a fill generally needed?

Wow! Waters this is incredibly helpful. I didn't get much info for my post surgery necessities. I appreciate this.
I wished someone had told me about the heating pad. I figured out the heat helped with the gas and ended up laying in my car's heated seats.

Tropicana 20 calorie drinks? I don't know of those. I've been missing my Coke since being banded 6/21. Not a big fan of Crystal Lite, but I hear they have it in Iced Tea. Anybody try them? Is the Iced Tea better?

I was banded 6/21/07 in Mexico and am now looking for a local, Palm Beach - Florida, Doctor to do a fill next month. Any suggestions?

Trust me if you eat too soon, it will hurt. Also, for me the hospital gave me Italian ice. So it was a good crunchy thing for me to chew on, but did not go outside the boundries of foods for that period in recovery.

Take your temp and call a local Dr or go to the ER now! The signs you're describing are the possible signs of your body turning SEPTIC. This is exactly what happened to me after surgery and it is very dangerous. Do not wait. If you have a fever over 101 go to the closest ER and get help soon.

My friend and I both had it done within the past 30 days. We both have trouble being able to burp. This may sound silly but after drinking even a swallow of Diet Pepsi a burp stuck in your chest will 'cause pain or as the Dr's say "discomfort". If you let it sit out a little so that it's not as fizzy as a brand new bottle, it is still palatable and will not 'cause this adverse affect.

Yes. I did mine at Bajanor in Tj Mex. I have good and bad things to say about it, but the cost can not be beat.

Where do I find out what my goal weight should be?

Kland,
I had my surgery in Mexico. The day after I came home I turned Septic and landed in the hospital for almost a week. Now I am still very sore. I have not figured out what to eat or what not to eat. I've lost 14 or so lbs. So this is encouraging. I'm very very sluggish and my port incision will still bleed if I exert myself too much. I haven't held my 5 year old since the surgery and she doesn't appreciate that too much. Am I supposed to feel this bad?

Dr. Rumbaut is suppose to be a good one to go to. I know Dr. Zapata is like a guru, absolutely considered one of the best. Dr. Ortiz is highly regarded. It was cheaper for me to go to TJ so I picked Bajanor clinic and not including airfare it was $6,800 (I have a mid-band and love it) I was picked up by Dr. Carlos and he definetly did not expect a tip for the ride from and to the airport in San Diego. The first night I stayed in the Clinic/Hospital so no cost. The second night at beautiful Hotel Lucerna (or something like that) but the room was included in my total package. I had to tip the guy who took my bag to my room ($3 is good on average), then each time I ordered room service a tip was needed ($3 or so), my room had a coffee pot in it and 2 bottled waters complimentary which I used to make my own hot tea at night since I brought tea bags with me (soothing after surgery.) I'd also bought a couple of bottles of Water when I got to the airport in San Diego and put them in my bag so I had them on hand too. I think I spent about $30 on Soup, Jello, beverages at the hotel. I didn't feel up to going shopping or out to do anything. I just watched TV (about 7 channels of English), slept, read, and all round took it easy.Did you have any trouble after? I just did my surgery at Bajanor too.

I went to Tijuanna for my surgery. Most of the people I know did fine with the Dr. down there, but I had trouble. I am losing and my total surgery costs were $6800. But now I have a week's worth of US hospital bills, so I don't know. Was it a good choice?

I'm here, but not sure how this forum talk thing works. I just got banded 2 weeks ago and have had a lot of trouble. I'm here for suggestions and reassurance that I didn't make a mistake.

Hi All,I just wanted to stop and say hi. My name is Maryanne, I am 38 living in Massachusetts, with a wonderful, supportive hubby and 2 awesome kids. I started my journey in April, (dieting) and banded 8 days ago! So far since April I've lost 35 lbs!
Good Luck to all of you...I hope we are all a bunch of "losers"!
Your message is encouraging. I just got banded 6/21 and have had a lot of trouble with it. I'm tired of feeling so sick. On the up, I've lost 17 lbs. So I'm here for suggestions and someone to tell me I didn't make a mistake. :help:

How did it go for you? I had my band done in TJ at Bajanor and have had a whole bunch of trouble ever since. Even been hospitalized for a week due to complications.
-
This is scarey. I just got it done and have had nothing but trouble. How was it for you in the beginning?
Do you still get these feelings?
