  1. Am four weeks out of my gastric bypass. I was 250 and now I'm 227. I'm in the third stage but even with my shakes I'm not getting in more than 500 calories a day. Is something wrong with me? Why does it seem like everyone else has lost way more than me at 4 weeks?

My surgeon said to expect 15 pounds the first month and then 10 pounds each month after that. I know all surgeons are different. Bit Renee this is a tool not magic. It's a process that we have Togo through. Don't be so hard on your self. 20 pounds is amazing. Really think about that and it's 20 you will never see again. Take it one day at a time. Chin up.

  2. If people are not going to love you for who you are and what you are going through then maybe it's time for them to move on. You deserve to be loved by friends unconditionally in your life no matter the circumstances. There are times and seasons for friends. But the good ones will live you forever and that's who you need to surround your self with. I say there loss. I'm sorry you have so much hurt. Focus and you and being the best you can. That's what matters most right now.

  3. I'm paranoid I'm eating too much. I had been having trouble keeping stuff down' date=' puking almost every time I ate. Then literally overnight, I'm able to eat again, and actually keep it down. I ate an entire cup of Soup tonight, no prob. This morning I had 3 oz of ham. I have been chewing & pacing myself. I'm just wondering if I'm eating too much. I'm almost 3 months post op.

I am almost 3 months put and have been feeling the exact same way. I can eat anything and it does not effect me. bread sugar ect. I have to choose to stay away from most of that. I was asking my dietician on Tuesday if she thought I could be eating to much and she said as long as I am not eating until the full feeling that I am doing well. I get in anywhere from 500 to 800 calories a day and 60grams of Protein on most days. My biggest frustration is that I still not getting enough water:-) . Thank you for posting this as I am curios to read others responses.

  4. I am 10 months post op' date=' I have had small quantities of sweets, example: 5 M&Ms, a bite of a cookie, etc. Nothing happened to me either. As some said above... just because it did not happen this time does not mean it won't. I was thinking that nothing happened because I had such small amounts. Even if you do have a sugar craving I eat my sugar free ice pops = 10 calories and I love them... theys satisfy my sweet craving.[/quote']

That is why I was so sad that I didn't dump. But I only had about 4 bites. I just don't want to take the risk you know. I had this surgery to be a better me not to make the old same bad habits.

  5. Your body is still in recovery mode. Have you called your surgeons office yet? Your body is for sure lacking. I want you to think about this. Your body is in starvation mode. You have shut it down. What does starvation mode do. It's like killing your body. Right... So if your not getting in your proper nutrients your body will feel miserable. Your dr might want to put you on some more supplements or Vitamins. I know it is difficult. I still can't get in all my fluids and clarifies. I will pray for you to fill better soon. Good luck.

  6. So I am 10 almost 11 weeks out and I ate my first sweet last night. It was my mother-in-laws bday so I made a cake. I told my hubby I was gonna have some he frowned at me. I said I am actually hoping I get dumping from it. Weird I know... But.... I DID NOT GET IT. I am so bummed, I was hoping to have the accountability so now I have to be stead fast ind use my own will power. It seems as though my body will let me eat just about anything :-(. Buttbuttttt I did not have this surgery to throw it away on eating junk so I will stay stead fast and make the healthy choices my body needs to stay on track. They'd for letting me vent guys....

    Day of surgery 215 08/01/12

Today 176.0 down 2.5 from last week

Down 39 since surgery down 58 all together:-)

Sometime I wish it would come off a little faster but I am actually losing at a healthy rate. I need to exercise some more. I think when I do it will come off a little faster.

  8. Head hunger. I have it but i am pretty sure the way i deal with it is abnormal. i was never rally a cook or baker before surgery. I am 32 days out and i have been cooking and baking up a storm. Making all things i can never eat. But smelling and seeing them makes me feel like I ate them. I know. Bizzare. But wahtever works right?

I call that aroma therapy lol. I really can help:-)

Surgiversary 8/27/12 @ 255lbs (Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk)[/quote']

I totally understand that I have only lost 37 pounds since surgery lost 19 right before surgery. I would like to see numbers go down quicker bit at the same time I want it to be a healthy weight loss. I want to have all around good health. I do love feeling my clothes get bigger and bigger and my body feeling smaller and smaller. I still have 60 pounds to lose. But I am so excited to be down the 56 that I am down :-) your doing a great job. Just be stead fast and do what the dr tells you to:-)
