  1. SPEED is a hottie :) Your wife is a lucky lady!

  2. Hey there, how are you? I haven't heard from any of the September girls in a while so I thought I'd check in and see if everything is ok. I'm hovering around 50 lbs for the past month or so and getting a little frustrated. I think I need more of a fill...I am starting to slip back into my old eating habits again. Write when you get a chance.

hi There, I don't remember if I responded to you already or not although I do know that I saw your comment on my blog when you posted it. If you are still having issues with hydration I would suggest keeping a large cup of ice chips or sugar free popsicles or real fruit bars and have several of them a day. That way you won't be dehydrated and you will also feel happier with something satisfying.

I would keep ice chips near me at all times until you get used to the sipping or sucking on ice. It will help keep you hydrated and you will realize when it's time for another chip because it will have melted. That was my surgeon's suggestion and it seems to work. Also, look for a brand of yogurt called Voskos, it's Greek and it has 13 grams of protein. It is carried by Safeway, Whole Foods, Ralphs, Wild Oats, AJ's, Sprouts, and Andronico's. Safeway stores are probably the most easy to find. Also, if you drink Starbucks or drink smoothies you can get a lot of protein in that way without having to drink or eat much at all.

  5. that last message was from Cassy... I guess I should finally find a pic of myself. I had a new camera at our company picnic and this girl dropped it and broke it and just put it back in the case. When I got home I realized it and wanted to kill her... I know I have my memory stick around here somewhere....

  6. My first fill in scheduled for 10/31. I believe I'm coming alone this time so yes, I would love to get together for dinner that night or a late lunch that day or that Saturday. I haven't made my travel plans yet and will do so in the next week or so. I am really starting to be able to eat a lot so I'm glad the fill is coming. I lost 10 pounds immediately after the surgery and not an ounce more since I started eating food. Of course, I haven't been exersicing which I will be starting tomorrow... Natalie sent me the pre-fill questionnaire that Dr. K has us fill out so that he can determine if we're ready for a fill and it asks if you are exersizing so if you want the fill you probably need to be able to tell him that you are doing some kind of walking several days a week. I know I don't want to get all the way there to have him tell me that he isn't going to do it. I did ask him about the pressure in the port area after I eat and he said it was fine. It is just the pouch pushing against the abdominal wall. I find that if I stop at the first sign of fullness then I don't get that pain....imagine that :)

  7. Hi There,

I can't remember when we met...are you here in Vegas?

  8. Hey, sorry it took me so long to respond. This is Cassy...

I took an extra day just because I felt like it and everything was fine when I went back to work. I will tell you that the liquid diet does cause your head hunger to act up at about a week out. I had a mini freak out yesterday because I hadn't chewed anything in a week and I hadn't had bread in more than 3 weeks so I ceremoniously bit off bites of a wonderful slice of cheese pizza with a chewy crust and chewed it 30 times each and spit it into the trash. I felt satisfied and I didn't eat anything. Just tasting the sauce and cheese was enough to make me happy. Steve ran upstairs because he said he was going to cry. He sucked down 5 slices in the time it took me to chew and spit out one slice by the way...maybe that's why he said he was going to cry! I just laughed...I really just needed to taste something great and chew something. I know it's weird but I thought you might get a laugh out of it at least.

  9. I didn't realize that it wouldn't post my name, the post below this is from Cassy.

  10. Hey Ambra and Tangeray, I am at home today and feeling great since yesterday. I think a positive attitude is best through all of this. I went in and came out with a positive attitude and was really healthy going in as well. I'm guessing that Colleen may have had some prior surgery that had an impact on this procedure.

I figured out that the tiny piece of bread that was in my soup (it was basically a mound of croutons that they threw into it that I had to pick out) inenvitably some of it was dissolved in the soup when I started eating it the other day wasn't an issue I was just drinking too fast and it was pushing on the band. I called Dr. K and he said to stick to frozen items and cold drinks sipped at one sip a minute for the first week. I have detailed all of my thoughts and occurrences on my blog in case you want to read it tonight or tomorrow or whenever.

Relax, and think about how healthy and happy you will be and that will get you through the next 72 hours. I will be thinking of you both tomorrow!
