  1. Charlotte, NC ** Southeast Bariatrics ** (IN)patiently waiting for my surgery date!!
  2. I don't know! Maybe because they aren't emotionally attached to it...I like to think it's like picking a parking spot...just pick one...idk, it is REALLY annoying to me though bc I am emotionally attached to food...to be honest, I worry more about mourning food than being wheeled into surgery
  3. Maybe I'm missing something or maybe my Dr office is VERY cautious about giving dates out...my consultation with the surgeon happens two weeks after his seminar...they went ahead and gave me scripts for the GI, chest X-ray, and EKG...there has been ZERO talk of a surgery date...thoughts?
  4. That's one of his requirements...support group attendance as a pre op. Are you post op? What was your timeline like?
  5. I feel like I want to add allllllll yalls foods to my list, too!!
  6. Dr. Vollinger with Southeast Bariatrics. Yours?
  7. Thanks CBRKS!! Make sure you let us know your timeline! My fingers are crossed for a speedy trip to the O.R. for you and me!!
  8. My initial consultation is next Monday the 6th...my goal is to have surgery by Halloween.
  9. My "Last Supper" will be Chili's or Ouback...maybe lunch at one and dinner at the other!! But here's a question worth thinking about: What if having a Last Supper makes fooneral (the food funeral) mourning that much worse!! I've seen tons of videos on YouTube where the patient is having a complete meltdown...THAT scares me more than anesthesia!
  10. Thanks to you both!! I'll gladly pay 99¢ versus $40 to have ONE portion to sample!
  11. I go back and forth with deciding whether to say something or not. On 1 hand I think I have friends who would be supportive, but there's always a hater out there!!
  12. I've seen a couple people posting about ordering samples of different protein powders...where can you order them? I wouldn't mind paying for a small sample, but it seems the powders come in these gargantuan containers...
  13. Congratulations Lydia!!! I'm so happy for you!!
  14. I have lots of books on WLS as I've been trying to make this happen for years! I have to say this book is clear, to the point, and totally informative! I second the recommendation!
  15. What a gentleman! Ladies first! So what's one thing you are glad you learned before your surgery by watching your wife??
  16. Joe, do you have a surgery date?
  17. So excited for you Bakergirl!! Have you been approved or have you jumped through all the hoops and now need approval??
  18. Aaaah hurry up and wait...hope the insurance company gives you a quick approval!!
  19. Well, ordinarily, I'd say a question like this should be broken down into food groups!! With that, I'll say, I NEVER want to eat another Big Mac...
