So when considering what protien powder to buy. Is there a typical physician recommend brand? I have a dd with a rare metabolic condition called glycogen storage disease (GSD). Her specialist only allows her to drink "medical protien" bc he says the kind sold at GNC, or general stores contain steriods which would not be good for her. Its like $25 for 17 scoops and it takes two scoops per drink. Its expensive, but I'm not going to do anything to risk her health. So my question is, do your drs typically tell you to avoid these protien powders or can you have them?

I have been having the same problem with my offices surgery coordinator. I know we aren't their only patient, but we all deserve to be treated with respectfully. I had a deadline as well, the surgeon agreed to it and the surgery coordinator gave me a deadline to complete my preop testing. I met that deadline, then called multiple times a day for weeks with no returned call. Finally, when I call and ask to speak with her supervisor my call was returned. I was given a completely different oppinion on my original surgery date. My surgery is now scheduled for more than a month after it was supposed to be requiring me to obtain more help getting my kids to school and picking them up. Stay on them, its your right!

Finally got a returned call after numerous messages and a week of not returning my calls....The surgery coordinator called and I am APPROVED & scheduled for September 5th!!!!! I am doing the happy dance!

I had really low Vit D & B12 and I am pre op. Could there be a chance they won't do surgery bc of it? I was taking weekly B12 injections and 15,000iu oc Vit D daily.

Very informative, I actually have really low B12 & Vitamin D levels and have a feeling I will be back to weekly B12 injections post-op.
