  1. Thanks everyone....not exactly 70 in 2 months....I had lost 25 lbs pre-op and another 45 since surgery. Seeing those pics side by side finally let me see what everyone around kept telling me they saw....especially in my face. Feeling great....that's the best part!!!
  2. I had lost about 20 lbs already in the first pic. Down a total of 70 lbs now.
  3. When I weighed myself the other day and saw I had a 69 lb loss to date....I just stood there really still and quiet for several minutes....I kept waiting on the scale to tell me it was joking and look back down and see my starting weight again!!!! My head has not caught up with ny body yet.
  4. I have to look at the clock regularly to remember to eat....no hunger at all (8 weeks post op). Really no cravings either....I used to not be able to avoid coworkers chocolate dishes at their desks and now I don't even want a piece.
  5. My nutritionist says its ok...just needs to be the really lean stuff.
  6. Yumm! I can't wait til breakfast now....or maybe this can be supper!
  7. Once incisions are healed...maybe 2 weeks.
  8. I'm in the same boat... Initial consult weight was 348 Surgery day weight 323 Current weight 285 Goal weight 150....however I would say my goal is 148 do I could be down a total of 200, not 198. I am 7 weeks post.
  9. I wish I could rewind and not have watched that taking place. It didn't hurt but made me queesy....I don't like seeing any kind of procedures done.
  10. My Dr and nutritionist are both hard core and have lots of rules with sugar etc but they recommend the Greek yogurt.....I eat it everyday (split it into 2 snacks)....also add a scoop of protein powder to it and mix up the day before saying it....can't even tell its there and you end up getting like 34 -36 g of protein from those 2 snacks.
  11. WOW! I haven't lost much more than that and I'm 7 weeks out!!!! Congrats!
  12. Hi Sunshine & bekkie .... I'm right by you also in Salisbury nc .... Carolina weight loss surgery in concord is my surgeons office.
  13. I LOVE my treadmill....make the letters larger than normal on my kindle and read while I'm walking....I cover the time thing with the kindle and could walk forever it seems. Outside I find myself constantly checking the time to see if I'm done yet.
  14. I'm allowed to add 1oz fruit/veg after eating my 2oz protein now....I can't even eat the full 2 oz of meat so I am not being able to really add veggies yet (which I would prefer over meat right now)...will this eventually change and ill be able to hold more? Seems impossible right now...7 weeks post op.
  15. Ok I know what your talking about now....MUCH BETTER than the milky shakes....I think I may hate chocolate for the rest of my life now! Good luck with everything...it gets easier when you can add food.
  16. Haven't experienced this but I can't help but wonder what you mean by 'protein water'....something u add to your water but not a protein shake?

I'm 6 weeks out.....at 2-3 weeks post op I was allowed to have a few crackers preferably with cheese on them for the protein. Also allowed one half of a whole wheat English muffin or arnolds sandwich thin.
  18. Please send me a copy too.... dlcsjoyce@Yahoo.com thanks!!!
  19. Recovery was not that bad....the first day or 2 home was rough but I have a 5 yr old & 18 month old....daddy took them to grandma's the next morning though. I feel completely 'normal' now and have since about a week and a half out....no longer feel anything when getting up/down or turning over in bed. I was back at work less than 2 weeks after surgery....I cannot complain about my recovery at all!! I lost 25 lbs before surgery and have lost another 22 since...47 total - yay! I had protein drinks for the first 2 weeks - glad that's over that was probably the worst part! On limited foods now...higher, cheese, etc and get to add fish next week and slowly all meats over the next couple weeks. I hope your recovery goes as smoothly as mine!!!
  20. I'm new to the site also. Just had my surgery 3 weeks ago today and I'm doing great! I'm in Salisbury nc....about 30 miles north of Charlotte. Your 6 months will fly ny...I only had to do 3 months but it really for go much quicker than expected.
