I did that about 3 weeks ago. I undetstand ur excitement congrats! When was ur surgery?

I'm 40 yrs old but had a hysterectomy so the "monthly cycle" is not due to my weight. I think Im not getting enough fluids or calories in. I probably get in approx 200-300 calories a day. And Fluid intake isnt good either. Im so worn out & tired that its all I can do to get up & walk. Seriously I am a mother of 5 grown children but I've never been this tired in all my life. Cant wait for better days! They are coming. Im 5 weeks and just started feeling better.
-
Im five weeks out and hit a 2 week stall. I left the hospital 9lbs heavier than when I went in for surgery. It was all the IV fluids. I was in for 4 days. Hang in there ladies. Its probably Water retention. It will come off.

how long did each of you require someone's assistance after your surgery...is 3 or 4 days after hospital enough? I live alone and I'm trying to find a friend that can pick me up from the hospital and stay with me but need to know a realistic number of days assuming everything goes well..... I hear a week so I'm thinking 2 days in the hospital & 3 or 4 atmy house should be enough...what r thoughtsAbout 3 days

I'm 3 weeks and still swollen. It's more up top tho. I can't wear jeans for a long period of time yet.

I am sitting at the texas state fair and notice people walking around that would benefit from RNY. Now that I have gone through this I feel like going up to people and spreading the word of RNY. I know I would have gotten upset if someone had said anything to me' date=' but my entire outlook on life has changed. Has anyone had this feeling? Did you actually go up to people?[/quote']I understand what u feel. I wouldn't go up to people unless I knew them but people that know. Yes! I am so happy to tell them of my experience altho I'm only 3 weeks post op. I also write a blog on my fb.

That's great everyone is different' date=' I just want you to succeed in this journey, remember we got u. Lol I love grits hope I can eat them when out of the purée zone.I can't wait tell my surgery and my journey begins.[/quote']
Oh, thought u had already had the surgery.
-
Thank you for ur response. It's not just the grits. It's everything I eat or drink. I'm calling the doc tomoro. I thought I did something really bad by eating grits. Even tho the NUT said I could.
-
I think it's a little to soon for grits' date=' if you ant the weight to go away stick to the rules it will work if you work it[/quote']
The weight is coming off. I'm down 32lbs in 2.5 weeks. Rules are so different. My nut said I could have grits. *sigh* guess ill go back to broth.

I feel like ive had the hardest time dealing with this surgery. I woke up feeling great. I went to eat Breakfast, some very soupy grits and I feel pain as the grits go through my pouch and into my intestines. Anything I eat or drink.hurts! Any idea what this could be??
-
This may sound weird' date=' but my stomach is swollen on left side, looks like grapefruit under my skin, it doesnt hurt but looks odd. Has nyone ever experience this? Will it go away? Im giving it a few days before i call doc, since i just had operation i think it may go down? Hopefully? And by the way i have not lost a single pound since surgery:([/quote']Gas....thats how mine would get.
