  1. Mine was pretty extensive. I met my surgeons whole staff and each spoke with me about my concerns and questions. I had allot of medical questions an wound up talking my surgeon for 45 min! His head nurse was very helpfull. If I may give a little advice, be honest. Ask whatever you need. Write a list if it helps, if you wonder about libido after ask about it! You should leave that office firm in your decision and excited. If you leave scared and intimidated you didn't ask the questions. Good luck and we are here for you!
  2. From Salem Oregon but living in north Dakota for the next 11 months then back to Oregon
  3. 1. Being healthier and around longer 2. Flight paramedic ohhh yeah (weight limits now) 3. Being able to provide better care for my patients 4. Long walks
  4. I am still pre-op but hav started going to the gym to prepare and get on the Protein shakes. I agree that a gym buddy is a huge help. Also, what has helped me is hiring a trainer. They push u and u want to do it so u keep trying. I feel your pain though. I have a bad knee and te elliptical hurt like crazy. I'm hoping post op that te knee will hurt less as weight drops. Hang in there!
  5. Good afternoon all. I am just waiting for approval for my procedure. My psyc eval doc took 1.5 months to turn in the paperwork. I'm 31 and 310lbs. I am a paramedic and hoping that in the next year I can become a flight medic with the loss of weight. My mom had this surgery and has not followed the diet or the vitamins. Everyone is against this for me. I hear this is the easy way out etc. Well let me just say that In 10 years when I am still alive and health they can kiss my rear. For anyone out there that is getting this surgery because they have tried and failed and realize that the hypertension and horrible Hdl and LDL will eventually = a heart attack and no longer being there for your loved ones, your not the only one. Anyway, here's to another journey. Look forward to getting to know all of you
