Midnight Museings
So I was laying here thinking about this life change and Suddenly it dawned on me. Life is not going to revolve around food anymore. It's scary to think isn't it? I mean what do I think when i go out of town? I'll tell you, I wonder where I am going to eat. Not what am I goin to do but what I'm going to eat. How did life become all about food? I guess part of it is natural right? Food is at the core of our necessities but when did a nice fishing trip, stroll thru the park or anything else become about where I am going to eat before or after. Then it gets really deep when you go into society and how social gatherings for so many revolve around food. I don't want to hate food, I want appreciate food. Understand that it's fuel for my body and that life is not about my next meal, it's about the journey from A to B. what will I do with my extra time and money? I'll tell you virtual peeps what "I" am going to do with it. I'm going to live life without the boundaries that food has placed on me before. I'm going to find comfort in a warm embrace and nice evening walk or a sunset spent with someone I love. To hell with you food. Fuel me so I can go live. But no more are you goin to control my life. If life is a roller coaster (complete with vomiting) then strap me in and make sure there is no one behind me becaus e I'm in it for the long haul! I don't know about you all but I'm ready to live.

Pain In The Ass
having an alignment done is probably not a bad idea, though i am with Choatica on this one, The exercises to tighten up muscle groups that support your gluteus maximus or in your case minimus would be very helpfull. =) I used to have a, how did the gf put it, heart shaped butt, but now, its kinda like a rolo candy. ROFL. Please follow up and let us know what you find that works!!!

My Story
This was a great my story. I appreciate your outlook. For so many people to say that people have this surgery for vanity you really are a poster child for what this surgery is about. Its not about vanity. Sure part of it is, it would have to be, but the majority is about life. It sounds like you have had an issue with self esteeme, though i think you would be hard pressed to find any of us on this forum that didn't at one point or another. I, like you was not always 300+ lbs. I dont know what changed but it is interesting to think that everyone does comment on eatting when your big and want to lose weight. Its not funny and its not even appropriate so i appologize if i offend anyone but i dont walk around telling a COPD patient that they shouldnt have started smoking in the first place. Or tell someone with liver disease thats an alcoholic just stop drinking. There are medical conditions and psychological conditions associated with being overweight and instead of looking at it like that they just go, Hey, stop eatting. Makes me want to go Np buddy, hey stop breathing.....mean i know.. Back to your story though, its good to read peoples feelings. I know i'm a guy and i am supposed to keep the majority of this ooshy gooshy stuff bottled up but the bottom line is thats not who i am. I am still pre-op and i only hope that i can do as well as it sounds like you have done. This world would be a lot better place if more people would work on the "heart" rather than everything else. Thanks for sharing your story and i look forward to more of your posts. Have a great evening.

Cold Or Allergies?
I love it. I wouldn't trade this job for the world. My patients are yet another reason I can't wait to get this done and get to feeling better and doing more for peeps. You like the CCT stuff? I can't wait to get into flight medic stuff but CCT is kinda same line of work.

How Many Guys Are On This App
Well, I used to be pretty fit. Was a firefighter and enjoyed life. Quit smoking, got far and now I can't seem to get it off. I have never been really thin but I want to be healthy. I have a silly stupi dream, I want to be a flight medic. With my weight, it will never happen. That and I have knee issues so I started looking at options. WLS was on the list. I knew I didn't want the band. I did a bunch of research and wasn't impressed. What I really wanted a sleeve gastrectomy but, insurance won't pay for it so I started looking into bypass. I'm 30 and 309 lbs. time to start livin again I figure. On a side note I have been going to gym regularly and am noticing some weight loss and muscle increase. I hope to continue it post op and see what I can do!

Last Week Of Appointments... Getting Nervous
Just don't forget to do your foot exercises as soon as you can start! Most hospitals should have you on a foot pump that moves your foot to stimulate blood flow ad decrease venous pooling. Remember to use your inspiration spirometer and walk when they tell you too!! Some patients pre op use visualization to help with anxiety. Others do relaxation stuff. Personally when I get nervous I kick back, pop on some enya and try to relax. If that doesn't work .... I pop battlefield 3 In the ol Xbox and kill people. Lol hang in there and just remeber that you will be fine. At the risk of sounding like a dork follow the words of the all knowing morphius. "don't think you are, know you are"
