The first 3 days are the worst, the next 5 suck and after that your into just the I want one bad not so much the I NEED one NOW stage. Stay away from smokers during this time, caffeine can help odd as that sounds, I just drank allot of coffee and tea. DO NOT EAT A LARGE MEAL!!! If your like me ad always smoke after a meal try small ones. NYQUIL tonight! I would dose myself with NyQuil at night to help me sleep. Break yor morning routine whatever it is tomarrow so you don't smoke. I actually took 3 days off and slept all that I could. Be strong and hand write some apology letters to peeps you will, not might but will snap at! Holler if you need some encouragement!

  11. I quit 5.5 years ago. Smoked for almost 10 years. I threw en away one day after emt class learning about mouth to stoma CPR. 1.5 packs a day and have touched em since. I stayed to myself for 2 weeks. Then I started hanging out with the smokers again. It was weird but the social time made it not so hard even though I was around smokers. They all knew I quit and all knew not to offer or give if I asked. Hang in there, you CAN do it

  20. LOTS of people have that problem with metformin! It is nice to hear about someone that is having positive bowel issues post op rather than problems all the time.
  21. how far post op are you? The tuna idea sounds GREAT!!! I love tuna and sweet pickles.
  22. Or go back to the medicine. You know the chances of complications, the issues associated with anethesia, the post op complications and the risk vs reward of this procedure. I don't know if your like me but if you are, just ask to be informed. know your lab values, ask what your d-dimer is etc. Knowing the medicine can be a blessing in that you really do know if everything is going ok. course the flip side is, if its not, you will know too. Knowing the complications you also know how to prevent most of them right? Walk, Insp. spirometer etc. You know what to do to decrease the chances of complications. If you need someone to talk to PM me. I work 24's so whenever. =) You will do great though!! I can feel it!
  23. I too can appreciate the nerves in relation to the surgery. I will prob be In the same boat, just try to relax. Do something to rise your mind off it and get some sleep
